Yes. Rockstar Games acknowledged on August 26, 2026, that Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay videos had leaked online during the preceding week. That confirms a leak event, but it does not authenticate every video, repost, claimed game build or download circulating online. A purported 113GB GTA VI ISO was reported as fake and malware-bearing; it is not an official game download.
Did GTA 6 gameplay leak?
Yes. On August 21, Axios reported that an anonymous account using the handle LEEK had shared at least six clips that appeared to show GTA VI gameplay. At the time, Rockstar had not officially confirmed the footage. Five days later, Rockstar acknowledged that gameplay videos had leaked during the preceding week. Axios’s August 21 report and Rockstar’s statement, reproduced by Gematsu on August 26 establish the distinction between early reporting and the later company acknowledgment.

Rockstar said: “It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time.” The company also apologized for how long it had taken to finish the game and share more details and official gameplay.
Are GTA 6 leaked videos real?
Rockstar’s statement confirms that gameplay videos leaked in general. It does not verify each clip now circulating online. A repost, a purported full build, a claimed map or a file labeled as GTA VI should not be treated as authentic just because Rockstar acknowledged the broader leak.

Can you download GTA 6 early?
There is no verified early full-game download established by these reports. Do not assume that a file claiming to be GTA VI is genuine or safe. Tom’s Hardware reported that social-media users who analyzed a purported 113GB ISO described it as fake and malware-bearing, including claims that it could disable antivirus software. Those are findings attributed to the online analysts cited in that report, not an independent audit of every file shared under the game’s name. Read Tom’s Hardware’s report on the purported ISO.
