As of the latest official announcements, Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has confirmed Leonida, including Vice City, as the setting and Jason and Lucia as the central protagonists. Rockstar has not announced a PC edition or PC release date. Screenshots, maps, mechanics, characters, timelines and PC claims that appear only in anonymous posts, datamines or reposted clips remain unverified.

What Rockstar has officially confirmed about GTA 6

Take-Two’s May 6, 2025 investor release also records the release of Trailer 2. That corporate announcement confirms the trailer’s release; it does not independently confirm every interpretation viewers may make about scenes, mechanics or story details.

What “confirmed” means here
A fact is confirmed when it appears in an official announcement, trailer description, support document or investor communication from Rockstar or Take-Two. A scene shown in an official trailer can confirm that Rockstar chose to show that scene, but it may not answer every question about how the feature works in the finished game. For example, a trailer can establish that a character or location is presented without proving that every rumor about that character is true.
What counts as a GTA 6 leak?
A leak is unauthorized material or information that appears outside the publisher’s normal announcement process. It can be genuine, altered, miscaptioned, out of context or entirely fabricated. Even genuine material may come from an in-development build and therefore may not represent the retail game.
The September 2022 incident
In September 2022, in-development footage spread online. Reporting at the time described copyright takedowns and distinguished the leaked development build from the finished product. The existence of that incident does not validate every screenshot, map, feature list or release claim later associated with it. Development content can change, be removed or use temporary assets.
The later 2026 clips
A later wave of clips was reported in 2026. Axios stated that Rockstar had not officially confirmed that footage when it published its report. That means the clips should be described as alleged or unverified, even if they look convincing or are reposted by accounts that claim insider access.

Rockstar’s response, quoted by PC Gamer, was: This is not how we intended for you see the game after all this time.
The statement expresses Rockstar Games’ position on unauthorized footage. It is not confirmation of every claim attached to the footage or every file circulating online.
How to classify claims you see online
Use the label that matches the strongest available evidence. Do not upgrade a rumor to fact merely because multiple accounts repeat it.

A safe workflow for checking a GTA 6 rumor
- Start with Rockstar. Check the official GTA VI site, Rockstar Newswire and Rockstar Support. Look for a dated announcement, an explicit platform list or a support article that directly addresses the claim.
- Check Take-Two for corporate timing. Investor releases can verify trailer announcements and formal release communications. They are a better authority for corporate scheduling than an anonymous social-media post.
- Trace the earliest source. If a claim began with an anonymous account, datamine, private Discord message or reposted clip, keep it labeled unverified until a primary source confirms it. Ten accounts repeating the same post are still one unverified claim if they all copied the same origin.
- Compare the claim with official material. Check whether the alleged character, location or mechanic is consistent with released trailers and screenshots. Consistency can make a claim plausible, but it does not make it confirmed.
- Check the date and build context. An old development clip may predate a later change. A post that claims to show the final version should be treated cautiously when the material is visibly from an in-development build.
- Look for a direct confirmation or correction. Rockstar’s own announcement, support page or explicit response carries more weight than commentary. A takedown can show that material is unauthorized, but it does not automatically prove every detail described by the uploader.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
The official sources reviewed list PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. They do not announce a PC edition, a PC release window or a PC pre-order. Therefore, any reported PC date or launch window must be written as a claim, not as confirmed release information.
How to read a reported PC window
A purported insider schedule, retailer listing, database entry or leak can change or disappear without notice. It may reflect speculation, an internal placeholder or a plan that has not been publicly approved. Until Rockstar or Take-Two publishes a PC announcement, the correct answer is that a PC version and date remain unconfirmed.

What would change the answer?
A direct Rockstar announcement, an official platform listing, a Rockstar Support article or a Take-Two communication that names PC would establish a new evidence level. A retailer page or social post alone would not carry the same authority.
How to compare two competing leak claims
When two posts disagree, assess the evidence rather than voting by popularity. Apply these five tests:
- Source authority: A Rockstar or Take-Two statement outranks an anonymous account, datamine or commentator.
- Publication date: A newer primary announcement can supersede an older report. Check whether a claim predates a correction or a changed release plan.
- Consistency: Compare names, locations and scenes with official trailers and screenshots. Inconsistency is a warning, although consistency alone is not proof.
- Build status: Determine whether the material appears to come from an in-development build. Temporary interfaces, placeholder assets and unfinished animation reduce its value as evidence of the retail game.
- Direct response: A clear Rockstar confirmation, correction or takedown provides useful context. A takedown establishes that material is unauthorized; it does not authenticate every caption or feature list attached to it.
What to avoid when looking for leaked footage
Curiosity about GTA 6 should not put your device, accounts or money at risk. The safest approach is to read reporting and official announcements without downloading alleged game files.
Do not download alleged builds or executables
Files advertised as a “leaked build,” “PC port,” early access client or playable demo can contain malware, credential stealers or ransomware. A video or screenshot does not prove that a downloadable file is genuine. Do not disable antivirus protection or bypass operating-system warnings to run one.

Do not enter credentials on leak or pre-order pages
Fake pages may copy Rockstar branding and ask for an account login, payment details or a verification code. Treat unexpected sign-in requests as phishing. Use a bookmarked official site or a retailer you already trust, and never reuse a password on a page reached through a leak link.
Do not send money or cryptocurrency to alleged leakers
Claims that payment will unlock a private archive, early access or a guaranteed PC copy are common scam patterns. Cryptocurrency transfers are difficult to reverse, and paying does not authenticate the material.
Do not repost copyrighted footage
Unauthorized footage can be removed through copyright procedures. Reposting a clip, mirror or download link can expose your account to a takedown and helps misinformation spread. Describe a report in your own words and identify it as unverified instead of embedding or redistributing the file.

Be wary of urgency and secrecy
“Delete this soon,” “only five copies,” countdown timers and demands to move to a private chat are pressure tactics, not evidence. A genuine announcement does not require you to break security rules to see it.

How to buy GTA 6 safely
Rockstar Support says pre-orders are available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The physical version contains a download code, so buyers should not assume that a disc alone provides all required game data.
- Begin from Rockstar’s official game or support information and follow its purchase links.
- Confirm that the listing says Grand Theft Auto VI PS5 or Grand Theft Auto VI Xbox Series X|S, rather than an unofficial “early access” or “PC” product.
- Check your country or region, edition, price, stock status and delivery terms directly with the retailer before paying.
- Review the platform and account requirements. A physical package containing a download code may require an internet connection and an account associated with the relevant console platform.
- Keep the receipt and code private. Do not post photographs that expose a redeemable code.
Rockstar’s support information does not establish a complete retailer SKU map for every country. Availability, packaging and terms can differ by region, so verify those details at the time of purchase.
