Short answer: Grand Theft Auto 6 is officially scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release in the first quarter of 2027 has been reported through a Reddit repost that attributes the claim to GamesBeat, but the original report was not independently available in the current source record. Rockstar and Take-Two have not announced a PC edition or date, so “a few months after launch” should be treated as an unconfirmed rumor rather than a release plan.
What is officially confirmed
Rockstar’s announced launch date for Grand Theft Auto VI is November 19, 2026. The official platform information names PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two’s fiscal first-quarter 2027 release slate, filed for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, also lists those two console families and does not list PC.

Rockstar has opened console pre-orders and announced an initial price of $79.99. That figure is an announced price in the publication context, not a guarantee for every country, retailer, edition, tax regime or future price change. Regional pricing and the exact contents of each edition should be checked at the time of purchase.

The absence of PC from a release slate does not prove that a PC version will never be made. It does mean there is no official PC launch commitment in the materials currently available.

Where the Q1 2027 PC claim comes from
The early-PC story currently traces to a Reddit post dated October 13, 2026. The post says GamesBeat had cited four anonymous sources for a PC release in Q1 2027. The original GamesBeat article was not surfaced for independent checking, so its wording, sourcing and context cannot be verified from this record.
“Q1 2027” covers January through March 2027. Because the console launch is November 19, 2026, that window would represent a delay of roughly six weeks to just over four months, depending on the eventual date. Calling it “a few months” therefore adds precision that the underlying claim does not establish.

System requirements are unknown
Rockstar has not published PC system requirements in the reviewed official materials. That means GPU, CPU, memory, storage, operating-system and performance targets cannot be assessed responsibly. Any list circulating online should be treated as speculation unless Rockstar publishes it.
Waiting avoids an unplanned platform purchase
Buying a console solely for GTA 6 guarantees access to the announced launch platform, but it also adds the cost of that hardware and any required online service. Waiting for PC avoids committing before requirements and timing are known, but it carries no guarantee that the PC version will arrive in Q1 2027—or on any particular date.

Console launch or wait for PC?

|---|---|---|
| Availability | Officially announced for November 19, 2026 | Edition and release date not announced |
| Evidence | Supported by Rockstar announcements and Take-Two’s release slate | Based only on an unverified repost attributing a Q1 2027 claim to GamesBeat |
| Hardware | Requires the named current-generation console | Requirements have not been published |
| Price information | Rockstar announced an initial $79.99 price; regional and edition prices may differ | No official PC price |
| Main trade-off | Play at the confirmed launch date, with additional console cost if you do not own one | Keep your existing PC setup, but accept uncertain timing and specifications |
How to judge future PC announcements
- Check Rockstar’s official news channels first. A genuine announcement should identify the PC platform, release date or window and the editions available.
- Look for matching corporate disclosure. Take-Two release schedules, filings or investor materials can corroborate listed platforms, but a platform omission alone is not proof that a version will never exist.
- Separate a report from a confirmation. Anonymous-source reporting may be newsworthy, yet it remains distinct from a publisher announcement. Verify the original article rather than relying on a social-media repost.
- Wait for requirements before upgrading. Do not buy a graphics card, processor, storage drive or optimization software on the assumption that GTA 6 will need it. Official requirements are the only reliable basis for a hardware decision.
What to expect next
The next decisive information would be an official PC announcement, a verifiable report from the alleged original outlet, or updated Take-Two and Rockstar materials that list PC alongside the console versions. Until then, the only firm date is November 19, 2026, and it applies to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
