As of October 18, 2026, Rockstar Games’ official Grand Theft Auto VI product information names two launch platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The announced console release date is November 19, 2026. Take-Two Interactive’s announcement describes the game as a single-player experience and lists launch pricing of $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Those prices apply to the announced console launch; they do not establish a future PC price.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
There is no confirmed answer yet. Rockstar has not announced a PC platform for Grand Theft Auto VI, so it would be inaccurate to state that a PC version is definitely coming or definitely cancelled. The only defensible statement is that PC support is unannounced.
The November 19, 2026 date is a console date. It should not be presented as a simultaneous PC launch date, and it does not imply that a PC edition will arrive on the same day. Until Rockstar publishes a platform announcement, a store listing, or technical documentation for Windows or another PC operating system, the timing of any PC release remains unknown.

When will GTA 6 be released on PC?
No PC release date has been provided. The confirmed November 19, 2026 launch applies to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. A later PC date could be announced, but there is no official window to convert into a year, quarter, or estimated number of months after the console release.
Be cautious with countdowns and retailer pages that display a PC date. A placeholder date can be created for catalog purposes, and an unofficial article can repeat an estimate until it looks authoritative. Neither is evidence of a launch plan. Treat a PC date as confirmed only when Rockstar or Take-Two identifies the PC platform and date in an official announcement or store listing.
Why there are no GTA 6 PC system requirements
Rockstar has published no PC CPU, graphics processor, memory, operating-system, storage, graphics-API, or frame-rate requirements for Grand Theft Auto VI. That means there is currently no official minimum specification for starting the game and no recommended specification for a particular visual-quality target.

Without those figures, nobody can reliably answer whether a specific desktop or laptop will run the game. A computer’s processor model, graphics card, video memory, system RAM, storage device, driver support, and cooling behavior all matter. The game’s final PC renderer and performance options also affect the result, and those details have not been published.
Can your current PC run GTA 6?
Not yet in an evidence-based way. You can record your hardware now, but you cannot compare it with an official GTA VI baseline because no baseline exists. A “GTA 6 ready” label on a prebuilt computer, graphics card page, or system-check website is therefore a prediction made by that seller or publisher.
Record the information that will matter later
- Processor model and core configuration.
- Graphics card model, graphics memory capacity, and driver support.
- Total system RAM.
- Available storage space and whether the game drive is an SSD.
- Operating-system edition and 64-bit status.
- Your target resolution, refresh rate, and acceptable frame rate.
On Windows, you can find the processor, installed memory, and operating-system version in Settings and System Information; the graphics card and video memory are shown in the display adapter information. Save those exact model names rather than relying on a broad label such as “gaming laptop.” When official requirements arrive, compare model generations and memory capacities directly.

How to read the eventual PC requirements
When Rockstar publishes specifications, look for separate minimum and recommended columns. Minimum requirements normally describe the lowest supported configuration and a modest target; recommended requirements usually correspond to a more useful resolution, quality preset, or frame rate. A component that meets minimum does not promise high settings or a locked 60 frames per second.

Do not compare one number in isolation
A graphics card with more video memory is not automatically faster, and a newer processor name does not guarantee the required performance. Compare the complete model, generation, memory, and target resolution. Wait for Rockstar to identify the test target—such as 1080p at a stated preset—before treating “recommended” as a meaningful upgrade threshold.
Will GTA 6 be on Steam?
Steam availability has not been confirmed. Rockstar’s current official platform information identifies PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, not Steam or another PC storefront. A future PC announcement could name one or more stores, require a separate launcher or account, or use different options by region, but none of those arrangements is official today.

Do not pre-order a supposed PC edition solely because a storefront page appears. Check whether the listing is published by the rights holder, whether it has a verified release date, and whether its system requirements come from Rockstar. A third-party page cannot establish platform support by itself.

Digital pre-load for the announced console release begins November 12, 2026, one week before launch. Rockstar’s support information says pre-orders are available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The physical product is a download-code box and contains no game disc, so buying that edition does not provide a PC installer or a transferable PC entitlement.
The announced console prices are $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. They are not PC pricing guidance, and they do not confirm that a similarly named PC edition will exist.

How to separate official information from leaks and guesses
Signals that are not confirmation
- A video, forum post, résumé entry, or social-media screenshot without an official announcement.
- A retailer’s placeholder PC date or automatically generated product page.
- A benchmark that claims to use unreleased code but provides no verifiable provenance.
- A “recommended GPU” list that gives no resolution, frame-rate target, build number, or source.
- A prediction based on another game’s requirements.
What counts as a meaningful announcement
Look for a Rockstar or Take-Two product page, newsroom announcement, verified store listing, or support article that names PC explicitly. A useful requirements announcement should identify minimum and recommended hardware, operating-system support, storage, graphics API, and the performance target behind each tier. Until those details appear together, keep every PC claim labeled unverified.
Should you upgrade your PC now?
Do not buy a graphics card, processor, SSD, Windows license, or prebuilt system specifically for GTA VI on the assumption that a rumored specification is accurate. An upgrade can still make sense for games you play today, but GTA VI should not be the justification until its platform and requirements are official.
A sensible upgrade decision today
- Identify the games and applications you need to run now.
- Measure your current frame rates, temperatures, storage space, and memory use in those workloads.
- Upgrade only the component that is limiting that present use, while preserving enough budget for a later, evidence-based GTA VI decision.
- Keep your current hardware list and receipts so you can compare it with Rockstar’s eventual requirements.
Waiting can also prevent a mismatched purchase. For example, selecting a high-end graphics card before knowing the game’s CPU or storage demands could leave the processor, memory, or drive as the actual bottleneck. A complete requirements table is more useful than a single “GTA-ready” badge.

What to check when Rockstar announces a PC edition
- Is the announcement for Windows, another operating system, or both?
- Does it provide a release date separate from the November 19, 2026 console date?
- Are minimum and recommended specifications listed separately?
- What resolution, graphics preset, and frame-rate target does each tier assume?
- What CPU and GPU generations are named, and how much VRAM and system RAM are required?
- Is an SSD mandatory, and how much free space is needed after installation and updates?
- Which operating-system version, graphics API, driver branch, launcher, and account are required?
- Is ray tracing optional, recommended, or required?
- Which storefronts sell the PC edition, and are regional availability and pre-order terms clear?
- Are the published requirements current for the launch build rather than an early preview?
Once those answers exist, compare your exact hardware model with the relevant tier and target. If your system falls between tiers, use the named performance target—not a marketing label—to decide whether to upgrade.
Context for sales figures
Take-Two’s corporate boilerplate cites more than 470 million units sold worldwide for Rockstar Games’ titles. That is a broad historical figure for the company’s games, not a GTA VI sales forecast and not evidence of a PC version. It should not be used to infer launch demand, hardware requirements, or platform plans.
Bottom line for PC players
GTA VI is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, with console pre-load beginning November 12. PC support, a PC date, Steam availability, and every PC system requirement remain unannounced as of October 18, 2026.
