When can you preorder GTA 6?
Rockstar announced that preorders began on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time. That date has passed, so the game is currently in its preorder period ahead of the November 19 launch. “Midnight local time” means availability can roll over at different moments in different countries and time zones; a store may also display its own local release countdown.
Before paying, check that the product page identifies Grand Theft Auto VI, the correct console, the edition you want and your country or store region. A listing that says only “GTA 6” without a platform, edition or region is not enough information for a safe preorder.

Choose Standard when you want the complete base game without paying for the Ultimate add-ons. It is also the clearest option when you are buying a gift and do not know whether the recipient values cosmetic or equipment extras. Ultimate Edition
Take-Two describes the Ultimate Edition as adding premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and action threaded through Jason and Lucia’s story. Is the GTA 6 physical copy a disc or a code?
Rockstar says the physical version contains a download code, not a traditional game disc. You still receive a boxed physical product, but installation and entitlement depend on redeeming the code through the appropriate platform account and downloading the game. Read several recent reviews and search the seller name with words such as “complaint” or “scam.” The Federal Trade Commission warns that star ratings alone can be fake or misleading, so look for detailed, time-stamped experiences that mention delivery, code region and refunds.
Inspect the listing itself
- A price far below the confirmed US Standard price of $79.99, without a clear tax, currency or promotion explanation, is a warning sign.
- Stock images, copied logos, unusual grammar, missing platform information or vague “limited key” wording should make you pause.
- A listing that promises a PC version, a disc when the official physical format is a download code, or bonuses not shown by Rockstar or the platform store is not established as genuine.

What to do if a preorder is fake, missing or the wrong region
- Preserve evidence. Save the product page, seller profile, screenshots, advertised price, receipt, confirmation number, promised delivery date and every message.
- Contact the seller through the platform. State the specific failure: non-delivery, invalid code, wrong platform, wrong region or missing promised contents. Request the remedy allowed by the listing and the marketplace policy.
- Open a formal dispute. If the seller does not resolve it, use the card issuer or marketplace dispute process. Describe what was advertised and attach the evidence; do not mark an order complete while a problem remains.
- Report the account. Report the seller and listing to the marketplace. The FTC also accepts reports about online shopping fraud and deceptive sellers.
- Protect your accounts. If you entered credentials on a suspicious site, change the password from the official platform, enable multifactor authentication and review recent sign-ins. If you reused that password elsewhere, change those accounts too.
A refund is not automatic merely because a listing was fraudulent. Your prospects are strongest when you paid through a protected channel, kept the listing and reported the problem promptly. A seller’s promise that a refund is “processing” is not a substitute for opening the formal dispute before the payment method’s deadline.
