Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar first announced a 2025 release, then its planned window moved to Fall 2025, May 26, 2026, and finally November 19, 2026. That is the latest date listed by Rockstar in the official materials available as of August 27, 2026; it is an announced date, not a guarantee that the game will ship on schedule.

Why was GTA 6 delayed?
Rockstar’s public explanation for the May 2025 delay was that it needed additional time to meet the quality level players expected. In November 2025, the studio described the further delay as time to finish the game with the polish players expected. These are Rockstar’s stated reasons; they do not independently establish every factor behind the schedule changes.
What platforms is GTA 6 coming to?
Rockstar’s current listed platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The announcements cited here do not establish a PC release date, so a PC launch should not be inferred from the console date.
Can you pre-order GTA 6?
Take-Two announced pre-orders and purchases on June 24, 2026. That announcement establishes that a sales path was announced, but it does not by itself confirm physical-edition availability or stock at any particular retailer. Take-Two’s pre-order announcement
