What platforms will GTA 6 be on? Is it coming to PC?
The confirmed launch platforms in the official announcement are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s official game page and the other official materials checked do not confirm a PC version. That means a PC release has not been announced in those materials; it does not establish that one will never happen.
What do we know about GTA 6’s story?
Rockstar places the game in Vice City, USA, and the broader state of Leonida. The two central characters are Jason and Lucia. In Rockstar’s disclosed premise, an attempted easy score goes wrong, drawing them into a criminal conspiracy and leaving them to depend on each other.
That is the scope of the story information established by the official description. More detailed plot claims should be treated as unconfirmed unless Rockstar releases them.
What has Rockstar shown about gameplay?
Rockstar’s official game page features Trailer 1, Trailer 2, and an “Extended Look.” Rockstar described the Extended Look, in an August 27, 2026 post, as captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. It is official footage, but that description does not establish performance on other platforms or guarantee the final experience on every system.
Rank #2
- The biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world ever created and now packed with layers of new detail.
- Grand Theft Auto V blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game's three lead characters, playing all sides of the game's interwoven story.
- Grand Theft Auto V also comes with Grand Theft Auto Online, the dynamic and ever-evolving Grand Theft Auto universe for multiple players.
The trailers and Extended Look are the best source for what Rockstar has chosen to reveal. The available official information does not establish figures such as map size, frame rate, resolution, or a complete list of gameplay systems, so those should not be stated as confirmed facts.
Are the GTA 6 leaks real?
Rockstar acknowledged gameplay footage leaks in August 2026. In a company statement reproduced by PC Gamer on August 26, Rockstar said: “It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time.” Rockstar also apologized for the time taken to finish the game and share more official details, and said it hoped players would wait to experience it on November 19.
The acknowledgment confirms that gameplay footage leaked; it does not make every clip, accompanying claim, or interpretation reliable. Leaked material is not a substitute for the official trailers, and it cannot establish what features or performance will be in the finished release.

Preorder offers and digital preload
The June 24 announcement said qualifying preorders and purchases made before November 20, 2026 would include the Vintage Vice City Pack, and described a free month of GTA+ for digital preorders. Rockstar support also says digital preload begins November 12, 2026. Eligibility and availability can depend on date, territory, storefront, and edition; confirm the offer and terms where you intend to buy.
Rockstar’s support page names PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Store, and select retailers or third-party storefronts as purchase options where available in the buyer’s country.
Physical box and region compatibility
Rockstar says the physical retail version is a box containing a digital download code, not a disc. You do not receive a game disc with that version. Rockstar advises buying from a retailer in the same country as the platform account to avoid activation problems. Its support information describes Xbox codes as not region-locked and lists regional groupings for PlayStation codes, so check the code’s region and your account’s region before buying.
