Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has shown Jason and Lucia in Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, including an extended look it describes as entirely in-game PlayStation 5 footage. A PC version and release date have not been announced in the official materials checked.
When does GTA 6 come out?
Rockstar’s current store listing and Take-Two Interactive’s June 24, 2026 pre-order announcement give Grand Theft Auto VI a release date of November 19, 2026. That is the latest official date in the sources available here. The previously announced May 26, 2026 date was superseded.

Release dates are plans, not guarantees. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick described the November date in the company’s November 6, 2025 results announcement as the date Rockstar “will now release” the game; check the official GTA VI page and Take-Two investor releases for any later change.
Which platforms are confirmed?
Rockstar and Take-Two list PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official materials checked do not confirm a PC version or give a PC release date. That means PC availability is unannounced in those sources, not that a PC release has been ruled out.

What do the trailers and extended look show?
Trailer 2
Take-Two announced Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025. Its release notice identifies Jason and Lucia and places the story in Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. Take-Two says the trailer footage was captured on PlayStation 5. The notice’s then-listed May 26, 2026 launch date has since been replaced by November 19, 2026.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look
On August 27, 2026, Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, available on YouTube and the official GTA VI site. Rockstar describes the footage as captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. That tells viewers how Rockstar says the footage was made; it does not, on its own, establish the precise mechanics behind every scene or feature that appears on screen.

Rockstar’s store lists Trailer 1 and Trailer 2, while the extended look has its own title. The official sources cited here do not establish a Trailer 3.
Who are Jason and Lucia, and where is the story set?
Rockstar describes Jason and Lucia as partners drawn into a criminal conspiracy after an easy score goes wrong. The announced setting is Vice City and the state of Leonida, and the store description says the pair must rely on each other to survive. This is the official premise, rather than a complete plot synopsis.

How much do GTA 6 editions cost?

Is the physical version a disc?
No. Rockstar identifies the physical version as code-in-box: the box contains a download code, not a disc. Take-Two says the physical code-in-box version is available from November 12, 2026, to support pre-loading. Digital pre-loading is also scheduled to begin November 12, according to Take-Two and the Rockstar store.
