Short answer: Rockstar’s Ultimate Edition adds a bundle of digital in-game items, but it has not published an item-by-item cash value or the upgrade price. If those vehicles, weapons, styles, locations and businesses appeal to you, compare the price of Ultimate with the Standard Edition plus the upgrade in your local storefront. You can buy Standard first and upgrade later. If you mean a physical collector’s set, Rockstar promotes The Vice City Collection separately; it is not a physical Ultimate game edition.
What are the GTA 6 editions?
Rockstar lists two software editions of Grand Theft Auto VI: Standard and Ultimate. Standard includes the game. Ultimate includes the same game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, a bundle of digital additions. Rockstar’s official edition page describes Ultimate as “an exclusive collection of items threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story.” Rockstar Games and Rockstar Games Customer Support provide the edition and format details; the support article was last updated August 18, 2026.

What extras does Ultimate include?
Rockstar’s August 18, 2026 support article lists these Ultimate Edition additions. Rockstar says new items are uncovered behind each chapter.
- Vehicles and transport: ’95 Grotti Cheetah; Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles; Ganado Retro Build; Shitzu Squalo; and the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Garage.
- Weapons and customization: Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers and Personalized Weapon Variants.
- Styles and clothing: Vice City Styles and Goodtime Gear.
- Businesses, locations and collections: Rideout Customs Mod Shop; Sara’s Unisex Salon; Stock 305 Clothing Store; Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor; One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop; PTT Youngin$ Compound; and Classic Car Collection.
These are named digital additions. Rockstar does not assign them separate prices or quantify their play time, resale value, or gameplay advantage in the reviewed edition information. The list therefore shows what Ultimate includes, but not a dollar value for the bundle.

Are the Ultimate extras worth paying for?
There is no evidence-based universal price verdict: Rockstar’s support page confirms that Standard owners can upgrade, but does not state the upgrade price. Compare the actual prices displayed in your own PlayStation or Microsoft storefront rather than assuming a particular gap between editions.
- Check the local upgrade price. Find the Ultimate Edition Upgrade in your platform storefront and compare its displayed price with the difference between Standard and Ultimate there.
- Consider which additions you’ll care about. The vehicles, weapon variants, clothing and style options, businesses and other locations may be appealing if those kinds of extras matter to you. If you mainly want the base game, the list alone does not establish a reason to pay more.
- Account for the option to decide later. Rockstar says Standard owners can purchase the upgrade after redeeming their game code. Starting with Standard is a way to defer the choice; the later upgrade price and availability are determined by the platform storefront.
Is there a physical GTA 6 collector’s edition?
Rockstar’s official software choices are Standard and Ultimate. Rockstar has also promoted The Vice City Collection, also announced as The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, as separate limited-edition collectible merchandise inspired by the fictional show Macca the Gator. Rockstar describes it as “a premium, limited-edition collectible set featuring all the essentials for a good time.” It is not the physical version of Ultimate Edition. The announcement does not establish the set’s exact contents or current availability, so check Rockstar’s listing before deciding whether it suits you.

The physical game format is a code-in-box, not a disc: Rockstar says the box contains a download code and no disc. That means the official physical package does not provide a game disc to lend, resell or use for installation from physical media.

Rockstar’s official site lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and a November 19, 2026 release date. Its support article says pre-loading begins November 12 at local midnight. Bonus terms and availability can change, so check the platform or retailer listing before purchase.

- Digital offer: Rockstar says digital pre-orders and digital purchases of either edition before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. The pack includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern.
- Physical pre-order: Rockstar lists a download code for the game and Vintage Vice City Pack as the physical pre-order bonus. Its support article does not list the free month of GTA+ for physical pre-orders; confirm the retailer’s current terms.
- Price: The Rockstar Store page accessed October 4, 2026 displayed $79.99 for the physical code-in-box version, but did not identify a territory. Treat that as the price shown on that page, not a universal price. The page did not show an Ultimate upgrade price.
- Code region: Rockstar advises buying from a retailer in the country associated with your platform account to avoid activation problems. Rockstar says Xbox codes are not region-locked, while PlayStation codes have region groupings.
