The Gamescom timing was only a Redditor’s theory. Rockstar released Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, and now lists Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What were the two GTA 6 trailer milestones?
HotHardware’s April 28, 2025 report said the first official Grand Theft Auto VI trailer had crossed 250 million YouTube views and one million comments. Those were the figures reported at the time, not current totals: YouTube counters continue to change. HotHardware’s original report captured the milestone and the speculation circulating around it.

Was the Gamescom Trailer 2 rumor confirmed?
No. The Gamescom timing was a Redditor’s theory described in the 2025 report, not a Rockstar announcement or confirmed leak. Rockstar later settled the question by announcing Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, in its official Newswire post.
How many views did GTA 6 Trailer 2 get?
Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.’s 2026 investor materials report that Trailer 2 received over 475 million views across platforms in its first 24 hours. That is the company’s reported cross-platform debut figure; it is not a YouTube-only count or a current cumulative total. Take-Two’s investor materials provide that figure.

Rockstar’s current GTA VI page also includes an August 27, 2026 “An Extended Look,” a September 17, 2026 album announcement, and a June 24, 2026 pre-order announcement. That newer activity makes clear why the earlier description of there being no second trailer or substantial new information should be read strictly as a snapshot of April 2025.
