Grand Theft Auto VI Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 in the United States, or $20 more than the $79.99 Standard Edition on the US PlayStation Store. It includes the complete game and the digital Ultimate Edition Upgrade: exclusive vehicles, weapons, clothing, businesses, customization locations and story-linked rewards for Jason and Lucia. Standard buyers can purchase the $20 upgrade later, so the real choice is whether you want those extras at launch and whether you prefer a digital purchase or a boxed download code.
Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with release scheduled for November 19, 2026. The prices and availability below are the US listings checked October 13, 2026; storefront prices, taxes, currencies and promotional terms can differ in other countries.

The upgrade is not a second campaign, separate map or physical collector’s package. Rockstar describes it as exclusive in-game content threaded through Jason and Lucia’s story, with new items appearing behind individual chapters. That means the entitlement covers the complete inventory below, but the content is designed to be encountered as the story progresses rather than treated as a separate downloadable game.
#1 Best Overall
- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
The following inventory uses Rockstar Support’s comprehensive labels; a few names differ slightly between the support page, editions page and storefront descriptions.
Vehicles and garages
- ’95 Grotti Cheetah: an exclusive sports car.
- Dinka Enduro motorcycle and Crest Kayak: Jason’s safehouse vehicles.
- Shitzu Squalo: an additional boat.
- ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Garage: the buggy comes with a dedicated garage. The PlayStation description says that garage includes a weapon locker and a place to deposit stolen goods for fencing.
- Classic Car Collection: a collection involving abandoned and project cars.
- Ganado Retro Build: exclusive modifications for Jason’s Vapid Ganado pickup.
The named vehicles are in-game entitlements, not physical model cars or preorder merchandise. Rockstar’s wording also treats the garage, safehouse vehicles and Classic Car Collection as connected gameplay features, so buyers should not expect a separate real-world garage kit or display item.
Weapons and weapon variants
- Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers: paired revolvers with Vice City styling.
- Personalized Weapon Variants: named variants include Jason’s Girardi ES9 and Lucia’s Klose K17 sidearms.
The personalized variants are part of the digital Upgrade content. They should not be confused with a separate weapon pack sold outside the edition, and Rockstar does not describe a physical replica or accessory in the Ultimate offer.
Clothing, appearance and customization locations
- Vice City Style: outfits, hairstyles, tattoos and additional appearance items.
- Goodtime Gear: apparel and accessories.
- Stock 305 Clothing Store: an exclusive clothing location.
- Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor: a dedicated tattoo venue.
- Sara’s Unisex Salon: a salon for appearance changes.
These entries combine cosmetic items with locations where appearance customization takes place. The official descriptions do not assign a separate cash value to each item or promise that every style is available immediately at the start of the campaign.
Businesses, compounds and mod shops
- Rideout Customs Mod Shop.
- One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop.
- PTT Youngin$ Compound: Rockstar Support uses this name; the editions page describes the related location as an illegal-goods store.
The differing labels do not indicate two separate editions. They are wording differences across Rockstar’s support, editions and store pages. Use PTT Youngin$ Compound when matching the support inventory, and remember that the illegal-goods-store description refers to the same listed Upgrade feature.
These are digital game features. The upgrade does not promise statues, art books, a steelbook, a disc or other physical merchandise.
What Standard Edition buyers receive
Standard Edition is the base game. It is sold digitally, and Rockstar also describes a physical Standard version that places a download code inside the box rather than a game disc. After redeeming that code, the owner can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront. The upgrade path means a Standard purchase does not permanently lock you out of the Ultimate content.

Rank #2
The Xbox store displays a separate $20 Ultimate Edition Upgrade add-on. PlayStation’s comparison lists the same $20 gap between Standard and Ultimate. Because the add-on is digital, buying a boxed Standard copy still requires downloading the game and the upgrade; the box is not a disc-based installation.
How the later-upgrade process works
- Purchase Standard digitally or obtain the physical Standard package.
- Redeem the game code on the account and platform for which it was sold.
- Open the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront while signed in to that account.
- Purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade add-on if you decide you want the listed vehicles, weapons, locations and cosmetics.
- Download the additional entitlement and keep using the same Standard game license.
Prices and availability can change, so the $20 figure is the currently listed amount rather than a guarantee that every future sale or regional store will use the same price.
Ultimate Edition versus upgrading later
| Consideration | Buy Ultimate now | Buy Standard, decide later |
|---|---|---|
| Initial payment | $99.99 in the US listings | $79.99 initially, with a listed $20 upgrade if you later want the extras |
| Access to upgrade content | Included from the start of your entitlement | Available after redeeming Standard and purchasing the add-on |
| Format choice | Digital only | Digital or boxed download code |
| Best fit | You already want the named vehicles, weapons, locations and cosmetics | You want to defer the decision, or you specifically want the boxed Standard code |
The $20 arithmetic is the same when the add-on remains available at that price, but storefront listings and regional offers can change. Check the store attached to your console before assuming a future upgrade will retain today’s price.
Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+ early-purchase offer
The Ultimate Edition Upgrade is separate from the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar Support says digital preorders and digital purchases of either edition made before November 20, 2026 qualify for the pack and one month of GTA+. Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 announcement also specifically describes the free month with digital preorders.

The Vintage Vice City Pack contains:
- A ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage.
- Outfits and hairstyles.
- An exclusive weapon pattern.
Rockstar’s physical pre-order guidance describes a game code and a Vintage Vice City Pack code, but it does not list the GTA+ month as a physical-version bonus. Treat the digital and physical offers as different until your retailer’s terms explicitly say otherwise.
Platform-specific redemption conditions
- PlayStation: the one-month GTA+ benefit is limited to one redemption per account, must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, and auto-renews monthly after the promotional month unless canceled.
- Xbox: the offer has a 180-day redemption window and is limited to one redemption per platform account.
Those deadlines are storefront-specific. Do not apply the PlayStation March 31, 2027 date to Xbox, or assume that a physical purchase includes the same digital subscription benefit. If you do not want a paid GTA+ renewal, cancel according to the platform’s subscription controls before the promotional month ends.
Digital, physical and region requirements
Digital Ultimate Edition
Rockstar lists Ultimate as digital. Your console account, store region and download entitlement determine access; there is no retail Ultimate box to order. A digital purchase is therefore the simplest format if you want the Upgrade content without handling a code or checking a retailer’s regional stock.

- Rule the city streets in a thrilling open-world crime adventure.
- Drive luxury cars, bikes, and police vehicles in epic missions.
- Fight gang wars, escape police chases, and dominate turf battles.
- Explore a massive urban map packed with action and secrets.
- Play offline anytime — no internet required for crime fun!
Physical Standard Edition
Rockstar says the physical Standard Edition is expected to reach retailer shipping and pickup from November 12, 2026, ahead of the November 19 launch, to support preloading. The package contains a download code, not a disc. Physical Standard owners can still purchase the digital Ultimate upgrade after using that code.
Code-region warning
PlayStation code redemption is region-dependent. Rockstar recommends buying the physical version in the country associated with your platform account. A code purchased for a different region can fail to activate even when the console itself is compatible, so verify the retailer’s region and your account country before opening the package.
How to choose the right edition
Choose Ultimate if the extras are part of your launch plan
Ultimate is the straightforward choice when the exclusive cars, boat, motorcycle, buggy garage, weapon variants, clothing, salons, tattoo parlor, mod shops and other locations are worth $20 to you. It avoids a later store transaction and guarantees that your entitlement includes the Upgrade from the beginning.
Choose Standard if you are undecided
Standard preserves the option to add the Ultimate content later. It also is the only edition with a physical code-in-box format. This route is useful if you want to wait until you have played the base game, prefer a retail package, or are buying for an account whose final platform choice is not settled.
Check the bonus before relying on it
If the Vintage Vice City Pack or GTA+ month affects your decision, inspect the exact PlayStation or Xbox offer page and the retailer’s checkout terms. Eligibility depends on whether the purchase is digital or physical, the date of purchase, the account, and the platform’s redemption window.

Take-Two and Rockstar announced the $79.99 base-game price, $99.99 Ultimate price and November 19, 2026 release date in their June 24, 2026 announcement: Grand Theft Auto VI preorder announcement. The announcement characterizes Ultimate as an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and action threaded through Jason and Lucia’s story. The store listings are the better reference for the currently displayed regional price and redemption language.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common buying mistakes to avoid
- Expecting a disc: the physical Standard package contains a download code only.
- Searching for a physical Ultimate box: Rockstar lists no physical Ultimate Edition.
- Assuming Ultimate adds a separate game: it is the base game plus the in-game Upgrade content.
- Confusing the Vintage Vice City Pack with Ultimate: the pack is an early-purchase or preorder offer, not the Ultimate inventory.
- Applying one platform’s subscription deadline to another: PlayStation and Xbox publish different redemption rules.
- Using a foreign-region code: PlayStation redemption follows account-region rules.
- Assuming the GTA+ month stays free: PlayStation says the subscription auto-renews after the promotional month unless canceled.
- Buying the wrong account: codes and add-ons attach to the platform account that redeems them, so do not redeem a family member’s code on an account you will not use.
- Counting the $20 twice: Standard plus the listed $20 add-on reaches the same $99.99 total before taxes, but only while that add-on remains available at the displayed price.
Bottom line for US buyers
At the prices listed on October 13, 2026, Ultimate is a $20 premium for a substantial set of named in-game additions, while Standard includes the same base game and leaves a $20 upgrade route open. Buy Ultimate if you know you want the exclusive content immediately; buy Standard if the boxed code, lower initial spend or wait-and-see approach matters more. In either case, verify the platform’s current offer, region and bonus terms before checkout.
