GTA VI is getting a newly reported heavy-metal radio station featuring Black Sabbath and hosted by Slayer members Tom Araya and Kerry King. That combination may be new, but the claim that no earlier Grand Theft Auto game had a heavy-metal station is too broad: GTA IV already featured Liberty City Hardcore, according to the report on the announcement.
What new radio stations are in GTA 6?
Rockstar’s official GTA VI page includes an in-game radio and music preview, and its Newswire listing shows an October 8, 2026 item titled “The Music of Grand Theft Auto VI: In-Game Radio Stations” (Rockstar’s GTA VI page). A report about that announcement says one station will focus on heavy metal, feature Black Sabbath, and be hosted by Tom Araya and Kerry King of Slayer (LouderSound’s report, October 8, 2026).

The station’s precise name, full track list, and any further details are not established here. Rockstar’s Newswire listing confirms the subject of the announcement, but the report supplies the specific station and artist details.

Not if “first” means the first heavy-metal radio station in a Rockstar game’s Grand Theft Auto series. The same report notes that GTA IV had Liberty City Hardcore, a heavy-metal station. The defensible distinction is the particular GTA VI station and its reported combination of Black Sabbath with Araya and King as hosts—not the debut of metal radio in Grand Theft Auto.

The available sources do not establish that no Red Dead game has had a comparable feature, so the broader Grand Theft Auto-or-Red-Dead claim should not be treated as verified.
What Rockstar has confirmed about GTA VI
Rockstar describes the game’s setting as Vice City, USA, and its official page links to a radio and music preview, merchandise, the Vice City Collection, and an album announcement (Rockstar’s GTA VI page). Those links establish that Rockstar is presenting music and radio as part of the game’s public showcase; they do not, by themselves, confirm additional station names or songs.

Platforms and physical packaging
Rockstar currently lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Its support page says the physical version is a download code in a box, not a disc (Rockstar Support: GTA VI platforms, editions, and versions; updated August 18, 2026). The page does not establish comparative performance between the two consoles. Check regional retailer listings for current availability and edition terms.
