GTA 6’s map is not just Vice City. Vice City is the dense metropolitan centre of a larger fictional Florida-inspired state called Leonida. Rockstar has confirmed travel across that state, while publicly circulated six-region maps add useful detail but remain community reconstructions rather than final developer maps.
Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a November 19, 2026 release date. Here is what the footage establishes, what the regional layout suggests, and what remains unknown before launch.

What Rockstar has confirmed about the GTA 6 map
Rockstar’s official GTA VI page places the game in “Vice City, USA,” but its story description immediately expands the setting: Jason and Lucia become involved in “a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida.” That wording matters. Vice City is the principal city, not the entire playable world.
Trailer 2, released by Take-Two Interactive Software on May 6, 2025, repeats the Leonida premise. Take-Two says all footage in that trailer was captured on PlayStation 5. The material shows a setting that moves between high-density streets, beaches, industrial districts, rural roads, wetlands and island environments rather than staying inside one urban grid.

“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.” — Rockstar Games, official GTA VI page, accessed October 18, 2026.
The six regions shown or reconstructed for Leonida
Publicly indexed region cards commonly divide Leonida into six broad areas. GTAMI’s cards draw on Rockstar galleries and trailer imagery, but GTAMI also states that its landscape is a community reconstruction. Pins are broad, individual locations are approximate, and none has been verified against the released game. Use the names as orientation labels, not as an official Rockstar map legend.

| Region | Environment and likely role | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | Dense urban streets, beachfront hotels, nightlife districts and a working waterfront. It is the clearest Miami analogue and the main metropolitan hub. | The city and its Florida-inspired identity are directly established by Rockstar imagery and descriptions; exact boundaries are not. |
| Port Gellhorn | Industrial coastline and working-city streets, providing a harsher contrast to the tourist-facing centre. | Regional name and placement come from the public reconstruction; the industrial character is supported by visible footage and imagery. |
| Ambrosia | An inland industrial setting likely to connect urban routes with less developed parts of Leonida. | Community regional classification; Rockstar has not published a complete official regional map. |
| Mount Kalaga National Park | Northern outdoor terrain, trails and park scenery rather than continuous city blocks. | The park setting is represented in Rockstar material; final boundaries, trail layouts and activities are unconfirmed. |
| Grassrivers | Wetlands, waterways and low-lying landscapes that broaden the map beyond roads and beaches. | Wetland environments are shown or teased; the regional label and exact water network remain provisional. |
| Leonida Keys | An island chain with waterside homes, marinas, bars and routes that depend on coastal travel. | Keys-style island scenery appears in Rockstar material; the number of islands and their connections are unknown. |
Is Vice City the whole GTA 6 map?
No. Vice City is the urban core inside Leonida. Expect the city to supply the densest concentration of buildings, traffic, hotels, shops and nightlife, while the wider state supplies industrial, rural, wetland, national-park and island spaces.
This structure changes how to interpret screenshots and trailer scenes. A palm-lined boulevard does not prove the entire game is one continuous beachfront city, and a swamp or rural road does not indicate a separate game world. They are different environments within the same Leonida setting. Rockstar has not yet stated whether every region is available immediately, how story progression opens them, or whether any transitions use loading screens.
What landmarks and businesses are in GTA 6?
The following names are safe anchors because they appear in Rockstar imagery or official-edition material. Their presence does not automatically mean that they are mission hubs, fully enterable buildings or permanent services. Rockstar has not published an interior-by-interior catalogue.

| Landmark or business | What the footage establishes | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Ocean View Hotel | Its sign appears in Trailer 2, tying a recognisable hotel name to Vice City’s tourist-facing streets. | The sign does not confirm every room, floor or hotel activity is accessible. |
| Hotel Dixon | Visible in scenes from Trailer 1 as part of the city’s hotel and nightlife landscape. | A visible exterior is not proof of a complete interior or a specific mission. |
| Paramour Hotel | Also visible in Trailer 1 imagery, reinforcing the concentration of named hotels in the urban core. | Its services, rooms and gameplay functions have not been detailed. |
| Rideout Customs | A named vehicle-customisation location shown in official material. | The full list of modifications, prices and vehicle restrictions is unknown. |
| Stock 305 | A named retail or commercial location visible in Rockstar material. | Rockstar has not described its inventory or whether it functions as a persistent shop. |
| Electric Fang Tattoo | A named tattoo business shown in the game’s visual material. | The available designs, character effects and appointment mechanics are unconfirmed. |
| Jason’s House | A waterfront home associated with Jason in Keys material. | Its full storage, planning or safe-house systems have not been announced. |
| The Rusty Anchor | A waterside bar shown among the island-chain locations. | There is no confirmed minigame, mission or enterable interior attached to the name. |
| Brian’s Marina | A marina visible in the Keys material, illustrating the importance of boats and waterfront spaces to the setting. | The available boats, docking rules and fast-travel options remain unknown. |
What activities can you expect?
The trailers establish a crime-driven story and movement across several types of terrain. Secondary coverage also identifies shops, parks, wildlife, vehicles and nightlife in the released material. These are reasonable expectations from what has been shown, not a complete launch feature list.
| Activity or system | Why it is reasonable to expect it | Current limit of the evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Criminal operations and story missions | Jason and Lucia’s conspiracy, robberies and partnership are the central premise described by Rockstar. | The number, structure and replayability of missions are not published. |
| Driving and vehicle use | Trailers show extensive road travel through city, coast and rural settings, with vehicle-focused scenes and Rideout Customs. | Vehicle classes, handling models, modification costs and garage capacity remain unannounced. |
| Waterfront travel | Marinas, island homes, coastal scenes and the working waterfront make boats and shoreline movement a natural part of the setting. | Rockstar has not specified boat controls, boat ownership, water taxis or loading behavior between islands. |
| Shopping and personalisation | Named retail, tattoo and customisation businesses are visible in official material. | The complete shop list, cosmetic options and whether purchases affect gameplay are unknown. |
| Nightlife and social spaces | Hotels, bars, beach districts and crowded urban scenes are repeatedly shown. | No authoritative catalogue of clubs, minigames, venues or opening hours exists yet. |
| Wildlife and outdoor exploration | Wetlands, national-park scenery and wildlife appear in the released material and secondary reporting. | Species lists, hunting or fishing rules, trail systems and environmental rewards have not been confirmed. |
How the regions could shape travel and gameplay
Vice City: short urban trips, dense activity
Expect the city to concentrate destinations. Hotels, shops, nightlife and vehicle services can sit close together, making Vice City the likely place for quick errands, crowded pursuits and high-traffic driving. That is an environmental reading, not a promise that every block is enterable.
Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia: industrial routes
Industrial coast and inland industry create visual and tactical variety: larger yards, service roads, warehouses and working infrastructure rather than uninterrupted tourist frontage. The footage supports the contrast in scenery, but not specific mission mechanics or access rules.

Mount Kalaga National Park: open northern terrain
A national park gives Leonida a setting for trails, overlooks and slower exploration. Until Rockstar details traversal, do not assume climbing, camping, hunting or a particular park activity is guaranteed.
Grassrivers: water as landscape
Wetlands and waterways can break up road travel and provide routes that look and feel different from city streets. The environment is established; the exact balance of roads, bridges, boats and inaccessible water is still open.
Leonida Keys: island-chain movement
The Keys material shows waterfront homes, a bar and a marina, making the islands more than a single beach backdrop. Their final geography, connections and transport options have not been announced, so fan diagrams should not be used to calculate distances or plan routes.

How to read GTA 6 fan maps without mistaking them for official maps
Community maps are useful for collecting names and grouping scenes, especially when trailers show only short shots. They are not evidence of final coordinates. GTAMI explicitly describes its landscape as a reconstruction: regional pins are broad, individual positions are approximate and none has been verified against a released game.
- Treat a place name seen on a sign or in an official gallery as stronger evidence than a fan-created boundary.
- Separate a confirmed landmark from the community’s guess about where it sits on the wider map.
- Do not infer final scale, road length or island count from a screenshot montage.
- Check Rockstar’s official media hub after launch for the authoritative map, systems and activity details.
What is still unknown before release?
Rockstar has not published the final map scale, exact road network, region-to-region distances, complete list of side activities, full interior access or traversal systems. It has also not explained whether all six commonly named regions are available from the opening, whether weather or water levels change routes, or how boats and other vehicles are acquired.
Those gaps are important because a named region is not the same as a confirmed feature set. “Mount Kalaga National Park,” for example, establishes a setting, not a guaranteed hiking system; “Rideout Customs” establishes a location, not a published upgrade menu. The most reliable pre-release description is therefore environmental: Leonida combines a major city with industrial, rural, wetland and island spaces.

Plan for a broader world than the name Vice City suggests. The urban centre should deliver the densest streets and recognisable hotels, shops and nightlife, while Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Mount Kalaga National Park, Grassrivers and the Leonida Keys supply the industrial, outdoor, wetland and island contrasts shown or represented in current material. Use named landmarks as orientation points, but wait for Rockstar’s final map and feature documentation before treating community placements or activity lists as definitive.
