The important distinction is complete outfit versus mask component. Rockstar’s current event listing describes the Slasher Clown Outfit as a full reward. The clothing catalog, by contrast, sells clown masks as individual accessories; you must supply the rest of the clothing and save the result as a custom outfit.

These are not two names for the same item. Completing the Survival challenge does not unlock every clown mask, and purchasing a mask does not grant the Slasher Clown Outfit.

How to unlock the Slasher Clown Outfit
The Slasher Clown Outfit is tied to a time-limited Survival challenge. The current listing says the qualifying window is October 29 through November 4, 2026 and the condition is to complete 10 waves in a Survival without dying. The listing also includes a GTA$250,000 reward. Because October 29 is still in the future as of October 18, 2026, treat the dates as a schedule to verify rather than a guarantee that the challenge is already active.
Before you start
- Make sure you are playing GTA Online, not the single-player Story Mode.
- Have enough time to finish all 10 waves in one attempt. A death breaks the no-death condition for that attempt.
- Check the currently displayed Weekly Challenge or event text in-game on or after October 29. If the wording or dates differ, follow the live in-game requirement.
- Use a stable connection and a loadout you can handle for a long Survival session; quitting or failing may require starting another attempt.
Step-by-step unlock procedure
- During the active event period, launch a GTA Online Survival. Use the available job-selection route for Survivals and choose a location you know well.
- Play through the waves without your character dying. The requirement is 10 completed waves, not merely entering a Survival or reaching a later wave after a death.
- Finish wave 10 and allow the activity to complete so the game can register the result. Do not immediately quit while the completion and reward screens are still processing.
- After the reward is credited, open your clothing or outfit selection and check the Seasonal outfit category first.
- If it is not immediately visible there, check the outfit counter at a clothing store, your apartment wardrobe, and the Interaction Menu’s outfit option. Different interfaces can expose newly credited rewards in different places.
The challenge is an all-or-nothing attempt: dying at any point means that run did not satisfy the stated condition. You can try again during the published window, but the listing does not state a shortcut that converts a partial or failed run into the outfit.
Can you keep wearing the Slasher Clown Outfit after Halloween?
The practical expectation is yes: once the outfit has been credited to your character, it should remain selectable after the event ends. However, the available guidance is not an explicit Rockstar permanence guarantee. In other words, the reward is expected to be retained, but Rockstar has not published a specific statement promising permanent access in every future game state.
To protect your access, select the outfit after earning it and save it through the normal outfit system if the game presents a save option. Record the character slot and outfit name you used. If the item does not appear immediately, complete a normal session transition—such as returning to a free-roam session—then check Seasonal, the clothing-store Outfit counter, your wardrobe and the Interaction Menu again. Avoid assuming that a missing menu entry means the reward was revoked; newly granted event items can take a short time to surface.

Where to find clown masks
Clown masks are purchased through GTA Online’s mask catalog rather than unlocked by the Survival challenge. The catalog separates the ordinary Clown Plastic Face from the group of clown variants introduced with Import/Export. You buy the mask, then combine it with clothing already available to your character.
Clown Plastic Face
The Clown Plastic Face costs $12,000 in the Heists mask catalog. It is the least expensive listed clown-mask route and the simplest choice if you want a recognizable clown face without waiting for an event.
Import/Export clown variants
The Import/Export group contains eight named masks. Each is a separate catalog item with its own price:

How to make and save a custom clown outfit
A purchased mask is only one part of a custom look. GTA Online does not provide an official garment-by-garment recipe that exactly recreates the Slasher Clown Outfit, so a player-made version should be treated as an interpretation rather than the event reward.
Build the look
- Purchase either the Clown Plastic Face from the Heists catalog or one of the eight Import/Export variants.
- Open the clothing or wardrobe interface and select the mask you bought.
- Choose the rest of the clothing—top, pants, shoes, gloves and any other compatible items—to create the style you want. The available sources do not establish a required set of garments for an exact Slasher appearance.
- Check the complete look in free roam. Some combinations can hide, replace or remove accessories when another clothing category is changed.
- Use the normal outfit-save control at a clothing store or wardrobe and give the outfit a distinct name, such as “Neon Clown,” so you can identify it later.
Why the custom route is different
The custom route gives you control over color and supporting clothes, but it is not the same collectible as the named event outfit. A red or neon mask can produce a convincing clown costume, yet it will not be labeled Slasher Clown Outfit unless Rockstar has granted that specific reward.
Availability, timing and common mistakes
Attempting the challenge outside the event window
The published dates are October 29–November 4, 2026. Completing 10 Survival waves before the event starts or after it ends should not be assumed to qualify. Check the live Weekly Challenge text because event schedules can be changed or displayed differently by region, platform or update.

Confusing waves with kills or total rounds
The requirement is 10 completed Survival waves without dying. A high kill count, surviving for a long time, or joining a late wave does not establish that the condition was met.

Leaving before completion registers
Stay in the activity until the completion and reward processing screens have finished. If the game disconnects or you leave before the result is recorded, the run may not credit the outfit even if you personally reached the tenth wave.
Looking in only one wardrobe category
Check Seasonal first, then the clothing-store Outfit counter, apartment wardrobe and Interaction Menu outfit options. The reward may not appear in the first menu you open.
Expecting a mask purchase to create a full costume
The catalog items are masks. You must add the rest of the clothing and save the combination yourself. The purchase price does not cover a complete outfit.
