Gogsi’s GTA V stutter-fixer mod offers two options for the high-FPS and pause-menu stutters the author associates with RAGE audio synchronization. GTAV.StutterFix.asi keeps the game’s 188 FPS audio limit; GTAV.UncapFPS.asi addresses the stutters and removes that limit. The uncapped option is not required for the stutter fix, and Gogsi notes a gameplay timing tradeoff.
What the mod targets
Gogsi says GTA V can stutter when the frame rate rises above roughly 140 FPS, and occasionally when the pause menu is used. The author attributes this behavior to RAGE’s audioTimeout synchronization between the audio and main threads, and describes a separate internal audio frame limiter that effectively caps the game at 188 FPS. Choose the first file if you want the stated stutter fix without removing the 188 FPS limit. Choose the UncapFPS file only if you also want the limit removed and accept the timing effect the author describes. Gogsi does not say that uncapping is necessary to address the stutters. What installation requires
The project lists ScriptHookV as a dependency. Its instructions say to download one of the two .asi files, place it in the game folder, and disable BattlEye in the game retailer. Gogsi names Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store, and Steam in those instructions. Version and edition compatibility
The inspected Gogsi listing shows version 1.2, dated November 24, 2024; the listing records November 25, 2024 as its last update. Its changelog says v1.2 fixed a patch affecting the 270 FPS cap and added another patch for a 564 FPS cap.
