Reporting on the GTA V source-code leak describes remnants of cancelled single-player content, including a proposed Liberty City expansion. A separate report says files were linked to Rockstar’s cancelled spy game Agent, but Rockstar has not officially confirmed that connection in the available reporting.
What cancelled Rockstar game was reportedly linked to the leak?
The project is Agent, a spy game Rockstar announced years ago and later removed from its website. GTA BOOM reported that a GTAForums discovery shared in May 2024 connected Agent-related material with the GTA V source-code leak. That is a reported interpretation of leaked files, not official confirmation from Rockstar.

The distinction matters: the strongest reporting on the leak concerns cancelled GTA V single-player plans. Agent is a separate project reportedly associated with material in the files, rather than the main cancelled GTA V expansion described in coverage.
What did the leaked GTA V files reportedly contain?
Cancelled single-player updates
RockstarINTEL reported that GTA V and GTA Online source code appeared online in December 2023 and that the files pointed to eight planned single-player updates. The report included a proposed Liberty City expansion among them. These are secondary interpretations of leaked code; the report does not independently authenticate every conclusion drawn from it. Liberty City and Agent Trevor
A PC Gamer report published September 19, 2026, describes evidence of cancelled GTA V content, including Liberty City and an “Agent Trevor” DLC. The report concerns remnants associated with the leaked source code; it should not be treated as an official Rockstar account of the projects. Read PC Gamer’s report.
What is known about Agent—and what remains unconfirmed?
GTA BOOM says Agent-related material was connected to the leak through a GTAForums discovery shared in May 2024. It also reports that Rockstar’s Agent page had been removed from the company’s website by October 2021. Those details come from secondary reporting; the available sources do not include a Rockstar statement confirming that the leaked files identify Agent or establish how the project related to GTA V. Does fan footage prove what was in the leak?
No. PC Gamer notes that gameplay shown in a fan video came from a cancelled mod, not from the leaked source-code material. A fan recreation can illustrate an idea, but it is not evidence that the footage depicts Rockstar’s original plans or content recovered from the files.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to read the claims accurately
- Reported cancelled GTA V content: coverage describes remnants of planned single-player updates, including a Liberty City expansion.
- Reported Agent connection: GTA BOOM links Agent-related material to the files, but the connection has not been officially confirmed by Rockstar in the cited reporting.
- Fan-made material: footage from a cancelled mod or recreation should not be presented as leaked Rockstar gameplay.
The leak’s provenance and the precise meaning of individual file references are not established by these reports. The careful conclusion is that reporting describes cancelled GTA V plans and a separate reported link to Agent, not that Rockstar has verified either interpretation.
