GGMods is a mod-discovery and sharing platform that also lets eligible creators earn cash-eligible GGP under published rules. GGP is separate from RP, which GGMods describes as non-cash participation points. The rules set point awards and payout conditions, but do not establish how much a typical creator earns.
What GGMods offers
GGMods brings together game mods, creator pages, and file downloads. Players can choose a supported game, browse mod listings, download files, and use a mod’s instructions or tutorials to guide installation. Creators can publish a mod page with screenshots, a description, a license and permissions information, and uploaded files; they can opt into GGP when creating a mod. GGMods says creators earn GGP from downloads. GGMods’ homepage showed 6,000 mods, 201 modders, 198,000 downloads, and 54 supported games on October 8, 2026. Those are live-site counters observed on that date, not independently audited or permanent totals.
GGP and RP are different
GGP is the points balance that may be paid out as cash if the creator meets the platform’s conditions. RP is a separate progression and participation currency. GGMods’ current rules characterize RP as cosmetic and do not provide for converting it to cash. The two balances should not be treated as interchangeable.
How creators earn GGP
The GGMods Monetization Rules, accessed October 8, 2026, list these awards. Each award is subject to the policy’s eligibility and anti-abuse rules; the published values are not a guarantee of income or a promise that rates will never change.

| Eligible activity | Published GGP award | Key condition |

| A unique user’s first download of an optional file | 1 point | Applies to the first optional-file download by that unique user. |
| A repeat download after a mod update | 1 point | Limited to one rewarded repeat download per month. |
| A qualifying approved mod update | 100 points | Subject to timing rules and a limit of one rewarded update per mod per 30 days. |
| A unique like | 1 point | Must be a qualifying unique interaction under the rules. |
| A unique comment | 1 point | Must be a qualifying unique interaction under the rules. |
The same policy lists RP awards for profile creation, approved mod uploads, likes, and comments; those rewards do not become cash. GGMods describes its download model this way: “A user’s download is always worth the same amount, ensuring your growth is consistently rewarded.” That is the platform’s statement of its model, not a guarantee that point values will remain fixed: it also reserves the right to revise rates and eligibility with prior notice.
Who can receive a payout, and when
GGMods states a minimum payout balance of $10.00, equivalent to 10,000 GGP. The rules say points enter a 60-day verification period before becoming cash-ready, and verified funds are processed monthly. Points do not expire under the published policy. The conversion threshold and timing are policy terms as listed on October 8, 2026, and may change.

What the rules prohibit
GGMods says it uses moderation and case-by-case review to address abuse. Its policy prohibits activity intended to manufacture rewards, including:
- Bots or download-for-download schemes.
- Splitting or duplicating mod pages to farm points.
- Unnecessary optional-file splits made to increase point awards.
- Negligible or spam updates submitted to claim update rewards.
These restrictions matter to creators planning frequent updates or multiple files: an action that appears to fit an award category is not necessarily eligible if it violates the anti-abuse rules.

Can creators monetize outside GGMods?
The policy permits tasteful donation links and links advertising commission services in creator profiles or mod descriptions. It prohibits promoting paywalled mods or linking to pages where paid mod content is offered, except for the stated allowance for developer-approved marketplaces such as Bethesda Verified Creator’s Program and Inzoi Creations Marketplace. It also bars donation thresholds, paid early access, and making updates or additional content conditional on donations. This is a limited policy allowance, not general permission for every external paid-mod arrangement.
