Habbo Hotel: Origins is a free-to-play, 18+ social game that revives Habbo’s pixel-art hotel setting, but it is not a restoration of your old account or progress. Sulake launched it on Steam for Windows and macOS on October 15, 2025. Returning players should expect a separate game, a new account, open chat and user-created rooms, with optional purchases for credits and Habbo Club.
What Habbo Hotel: Origins is
Origins brings back the familiar idea of a virtual hotel built around customizable avatars, rooms players can decorate, trading and community events. Steam lists Sulake Oy as both developer and publisher, and describes the game as free to play with optional in-game purchases. Steam’s listing is the place to check its current store details and system requirements.
The “original PC game back to life” framing is about the style and social premise, not a restored service. Origins is a separate game environment, and its current listing should not be read as a promise that every historical item, feature or mechanic from earlier Habbo versions is present. Sulake says shop items may return unless otherwise specified; that is not a guarantee that any particular item will come back. Sulake’s FAQ provides the current item guidance.
Who can play, and what is the social experience?
Sulake says players must be at least 18. Steam describes open chat and user-generated content, and warns that the game is intended for adults comfortable with those elements. This is a social space where players may encounter other users’ messages and creations, rather than a solo nostalgia game. Steam’s content description and Sulake’s FAQ set out those expectations.

How to get started
- Check the current requirements. Open the Steam listing and review the live Windows or macOS requirements for your device and operating system. Steam lists broadband internet as required; the store page is the authoritative source for current compatibility details. Steam
- Choose the official access route. The game is available through Steam or Sulake’s official Origins route. Use the current official listing rather than an unofficial download or account offer.

What is free, and what costs extra?
Entry and exploration cost nothing. Sulake also offers optional credits and Habbo Club, with purchases handled through the in-game purse and payment page. Payment methods can change. A Sulake support article lists credit card and PayPal as options at the time it was maintained, so treat the live payment page as the final word. Returning-player questions
Can I use my old Habbo account?
No. Origins is separate, and Sulake says old Habbo accounts are unavailable in it. Create a new account with an email address; your old credentials and progress are not available in Origins. Sulake account guidance
Will old items return?
Some shop items may return unless otherwise specified, but Sulake’s wording does not promise the return of any particular item. If you are coming back for one specific collectible or feature, do not assume it is in the current game or scheduled to return. Sulake’s FAQ

Does Origins include NFTs or cryptocurrency?

Because Origins includes open chat and user-generated content, use the game’s reporting and moderation tools if an interaction or creation concerns you. Sulake advises players not to share identifying information and to avoid off-site offers promising free credits, furniture or staff rights.
