To unlock every weapon aspect in Hades II, first complete the Aspects of Night and Darkness incantation, then use the Silver Pool to unlock each weapon’s three regular aspects. Hidden aspects require additional conditions: own all six Nocturnal Arms, unlock all three regular aspects for the weapon, raise an aspect to Rank V, and receive that weapon’s Waking Phrase from a specific character. Return to the Silver Pool to reveal and then purchase the hidden aspect.
This guide covers the six weapons and 24 aspects listed in the reference verified against Post-Launch Patch 2 – Hotfix 5, Steam build 24556151, dated July 28, 2026. Later patches may change names, progression gates, or resource costs.
How the aspect unlock system works
Each Nocturnal Arm has four aspects: the default Aspect of Melinoë, two other regular aspects, and one hidden aspect. The hidden aspect is not simply another purchase at the Silver Pool: you must first meet its unlock conditions and reveal it with a Waking Phrase, then pay its listed materials.
1. Complete Aspects of Night and Darkness
After Hecate gives you the recipe, perform the Aspects of Night and Darkness incantation at the Crossroads. It costs 5 Bronze and 1 Nightshade. Bronze is gathered on the Surface; Nightshade requires the relevant garden and tool progression. If the recipe has not appeared, continue progressing and speaking with Hecate.
#1 Best Overall
- Battle beyond the Underworld using dark sorcery to take on the Titan of Time in this bewitching sequel to the award-winning rogue-like dungeon crawler.
2. Unlock regular aspects at the Silver Pool
Use the Silver Pool to select a Nocturnal Arm and spend the resources shown for its aspects. The Aspect of Melinoë is the default; the other two regular aspects require their own materials. You can check the live costs at the pool, which is the best authority if an update has changed them.
3. Meet the hidden-aspect conditions
- Unlock all six Nocturnal Arms.
- Unlock the target weapon’s three regular aspects.
- Raise an aspect to Rank V.
- Speak with the character associated with that weapon’s hidden aspect and receive its Waking Phrase.
- Return to the Silver Pool and interact with the weapon to reveal its hidden aspect.
Dialogue and progression do not always trigger immediately after a prerequisite is met. If the phrase is not available, keep advancing character conversations and check again.
Rank #2
- Battle beyond the Underworld to vanquish the Titan of Time as the Princess of the Dead in this bewitching sequel to the original rogue-like dungeon crawler. Hades II lets players explore a bigger, deeper mythic world with the full might of Olympus at their call in a story that reacts to their every setback and accomplishment.
4. Pay to unlock the revealed aspect
Revealing a hidden aspect and unlocking it are separate actions. Once the phrase reveals it at the Silver Pool, spend the materials displayed there to unlock it. Confirm the cost in-game before gathering resources, since costs can change between patches.

Unlocking all six Nocturnal Arms
The Witch’s Staff is the starting weapon. The remaining arms are unlocked through the weapon pool and their material requirements. The Argent Skull requires the Sister Blades, Umbral Flames, and Moonstone Axe. The Black Coat requires those three weapons plus the Argent Skull. The listed gates also specify that prerequisite weapons must not have been unlocked during the current night; if a weapon is unavailable, check the pool again after a new night and confirm its displayed requirements.
