When did Halloween: The Game come out?
Halloween: The Game released on September 8, 2026. Early access began on September 4, according to the official launch notice. The “announced for 2026” wording refers to the original announcement, published by Gun Interactive on August 20, 2025—not a future release window.
What platforms is Halloween: The Game on?
The game launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Those platforms were named in Gun Interactive’s announcement; the US PlayStation Store listing confirms a PS5 version.
What kind of game is it?
Developed and published by IllFonic, with Gun Interactive as co-publisher, the game is an asymmetric stealth horror adaptation of the world of John Carpenter’s 1978 film. It is set in Haddonfield. In multiplayer, one player takes the role of Michael Myers while civilians try to warn residents and contact the authorities.

The project’s named partners are Compass International Pictures and Further Front. IllFonic CEO and co-founder Charles Brungardt said the rights holders and producers shared insights to help the studio stay true to the film. Compass International Pictures president Malek Akkad described the goal as bringing a “definitive digital version” of Halloween and Michael Myers to game fans. Both comments appeared in the official announcement.
Does it have a single-player story, and can you play offline?
Single-player story
Yes. The launch notice describes a single-player story mode in which you play as Michael Myers.

Offline play
The announcement says players can play solo, against bots offline, or online against other players. The available official descriptions do not specify which modes or features are supported in offline bot play, so do not assume it reproduces every online option.
Online multiplayer
The 1v4 mode pits Michael Myers against four civilians. The launch notice lists ten playable civilians and four maps: Haddonfield Town Center, Haddonfield Heights, Orange Grove Estates and East Haddonfield. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes two additional civilian characters. These are publisher-stated launch details, not independent assessments of balance or match quality.

What customization and progression are included?
According to the launch notice, players can customize characters and unlock cosmetics. Civilian progression includes perk-card decks; Michael Myers unlocks include skins, tints, starting weapons, executions and abilities. The announcement does not establish how long these unlocks take or whether progression differs between solo, offline and online play.
Is there a physical or Collector’s Edition?
Yes. The official physical-editions announcement says Standard and Limited Collector’s Editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X launched October 6, 2026, following the digital release. Both are disc editions. The announced US prices were $39.99 for Standard and $149.99 for Collector’s Edition; these are announcement prices, not a guarantee of current retailer pricing or stock.
