The Xbox/Microsoft Store listing likewise presents it as content within the MCC ecosystem. Do not assume that buying the Xbox console version automatically unlocks the PC version; the available product information does not establish a universal cross-buy entitlement.

This is best described as a PC-optimized release within MCC—not a ground-up remake. The official materials emphasize resolution, frame rate, controls, display support, and graphics settings rather than a rebuilt engine or redesigned campaign.
How to install it
Steam
- Install or purchase Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
- Purchase or activate the Halo 3 add-on.
- Open MCC’s downloadable-content or installation-management controls.

Buy the individual add-on if:
