Local campaign split-screen is not available on PC, and the games do not all share the same cross-play rules.
Which Halo games have co-op campaign?
These are campaign limits, not multiplayer limits. “Online” means players join over a network; “split-screen” means players share one console and display.

Can you play Halo campaign split-screen?
MCC: two-player campaign split-screen on Xbox
MCC supports campaign split-screen on Xbox, not PC. For campaign, set up two players; MCC’s support guidance says that when more than two players use split-screen, only Multiplayer is available. You need two connected Xbox controllers.
Infinite: no campaign split-screen
Halo Infinite’s local split-screen support applies to competitive Multiplayer on Xbox consoles, not Campaign. Campaign Network Co-Op is online, so players join a Fireteam over a network.

Campaign Evolved: two-player split-screen on supported consoles
Halo: Campaign Evolved supports two-player campaign split-screen on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. It does not support PC split-screen.
Can Xbox and PC play Halo campaign together?
MCC: do not assume campaign cross-play
MCC supports Xbox/PC cross-play for the collection generally, but its campaign and Campaign Playlists are not generally cross-play. Halo Support’s April 2022 update described experimental PC/Xbox campaign co-op for Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST. That historical, title-specific qualification should not be taken as a general promise for every MCC campaign or as confirmation of current availability.

Infinite and Campaign Evolved: online cross-play
Halo Infinite supports PC/Xbox cross-play for online campaign co-op. Halo: Campaign Evolved supports online co-op across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5; cross-progression is supported through a linked Microsoft account.
How to set up campaign co-op
MCC local split-screen on Xbox
- Connect a second Xbox controller.
- Start MCC and reach the main menu.
- On the first controller, press X to open the Roster.
- On the second controller, press A, then select an Xbox profile or add a guest profile.
- Start a Campaign with both players in the session.
MCC online co-op
- Make sure both players have MCC and an Xbox network account.
- Add your friend on the Xbox network.
- From MCC’s main menu, open the Roster, select your friend, and choose Invite Player.
- Start a campaign or Campaign Playlist once your friend joins.
Online campaign invites do not remove MCC’s campaign cross-play restrictions described above.

Infinite Network Co-Op
- Launch Halo Infinite and add friends to your Fireteam from the Social menu.
- Have the Fireteam Leader navigate to Campaign.
- After Campaign loads, form or join the campaign-based Fireteam and begin co-op.
A Fireteam cannot simply move between the Campaign and Multiplayer menus together, so set up the campaign session from the Campaign menu.
Campaign Evolved split-screen
- Start the game on Xbox Series X|S or PS5 with one or two players signed in.
- Connect a second controller if needed.
- At the Main Menu, have Player 2 press A on Xbox or Cross on PlayStation.
- Sign Player 2 in to a profile to join the campaign session.
What to know before installing or joining
MCC: Xbox and PC differ locally
MCC is available on Xbox and Windows. Xbox supports local campaign split-screen; PC does not. For online play, use Xbox network accounts and the in-game Roster to invite friends.

Infinite: campaign and free multiplayer are separate
Halo Infinite multiplayer is free-to-play, while Campaign is a separate paid or subscription-accessed component. On PC, the official install routes include the Xbox app and Steam. Xbox Play Anywhere carryover applies to Xbox app/Microsoft Store purchases; a Steam campaign purchase remains on Steam. Check the storefront and account you intend to use before purchasing or installing.
Campaign Evolved: online and local platforms are not identical
Online campaign co-op spans PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, while local split-screen is documented for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 only. Having access to the game on a platform does not imply that platform supports couch co-op.
