Truth and Reconciliation is mission 3 in Halo: Campaign Evolved, the remake of the similarly named Halo: Combat Evolved mission. It contains three Skulls and one Terminal: Iron at the exterior gravity lift, Endurance Spec on the upper hangar level, Foreign behind a timed door in the dropship hangar, and the Terminal in the brig’s back holding cell. Find all four to earn the Plundered achievement or trophy.
This guide uses the Evolved layout. Do not substitute directions from the original release, because the remake moves and redesigns collectible routes.

All Truth and Reconciliation collectibles at a glance
| Collectible | Area | Best rally point | Main route hazard | Gameplay effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron Skull | Exterior gravity-lift cliff | Rally Point Alpha | Drop to a lower ledge and make a precision return jump | Solo death restarts the level; co-op death returns you to the last checkpoint |
| Endurance Spec Skull | Upper level of the ship’s hangar | Rally Point Bravo | Long momentum-based jumps over slanted purple structures | UNSC vehicles become indestructible |
| Foreign Skull | Dropship hangar, timed side door | Rally Point Bravo | Waiting for reinforcements to open the door, then entering quickly | Weapons from another faction cannot be used |
| Terminal | Brig holding-cell room | Captain Keyes rescue sequence | Finding the correct cell after lowering its shields | No gameplay modifier; counts toward Plundered |
The four items are separate objectives. You can collect the Iron Skull from Alpha, then replay from Bravo for both hangar Skulls, and finally reach the brig Terminal during the Keyes rescue. A mission replay is safer than trying to force every pickup into one run.
Where are all the Truth and Reconciliation Skulls?
The three Skulls are distributed across the mission rather than placed in one collectible room. Iron is outside before you board the ship. Endurance Spec and Foreign are inside separate hangar sections. Their modifiers are active when the Skull is enabled, so read each effect before deciding whether to keep playing with it turned on.

Iron Skull: exterior gravity-lift area
Start from Rally Point Alpha. This is the section with the gravity lift leading toward the ship.
- Clear the enemies around the gravity lift before attempting the jump. Hostiles can knock you off the ledge while you are lining up the route.
- Cross to the far side of the exterior area.
- At the cliff edge, find the spotlight shining on a cactus and a tree. The landmark is a group of two cactus-like trees with a leafy middle tree.
- Stand on the rock just to the right of the spotlight and look down over the edge.
- Drop to the lower ledge. The Iron Skull is just below the left cactus-like tree.
- Move toward the tree branches and jump back to the upper route. Keep your approach controlled; the ledge is narrow and a missed jump can send you to the bottom.
If the return jump goes wrong, restart from the available checkpoint or reset the encounter instead of repeatedly attempting a dangerous recovery. The collectible remains available when you return to this section.
What the Iron Skull changes
Iron changes death recovery, making it the most punishing of the three. In solo play, dying with Iron active restarts the level rather than placing you at the latest checkpoint. In co-op, a death sends the player back to the last checkpoint. That difference matters when you are learning the cliff route, because one failed jump can erase a solo run’s progress.
For a first collection attempt, clear every nearby enemy and memorize the spotlight, rock and three-tree landmarks before picking up the Skull. If your goal is only the Plundered achievement or trophy, you can collect Iron and then finish or restart the mission without treating its modifier as a permanent challenge requirement.

Endurance Spec Skull: upper hangar walkway
Use Rally Point Bravo. This route begins after you enter the ship.
- Defend the arrival room until the immediate attack is over.
- Wait for the marines to enter the hangar. Their arrival marks the correct point in the sequence.
- Reach the hangar’s upper level and follow the walkway toward its far end.
- Continue beyond the series of purple, slanted structures. The Skull is past this obstacle sequence.
- Jump while preserving sprint speed and forward momentum. Do not stop on the slanted surfaces: losing momentum can make you slide off before the next jump.
- Take the Skull at the far end, then retrace the walkway carefully.
The route is a movement challenge rather than a combat puzzle. Line up each jump before leaving the previous surface, and avoid unnecessary direction changes in midair. If you already have the Acrophobia Skull enabled, its brief flight capability makes this path much easier, but Acrophobia is not required to collect Endurance Spec.
What the Endurance Spec Skull changes
Endurance Spec makes UNSC vehicles indestructible. That can protect vehicles during later driving or combat sections, but it does not remove the need to complete the hangar jumps or protect you from ordinary infantry damage. The effect applies to UNSC vehicles, not every vehicle or object in the mission.

- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
- Move to the far-right locked door in the hangar.
- Stay beside the door and watch the fight instead of trying to force it open. Reinforcements eventually open it as part of the encounter.
- Enter immediately when the lock releases. The opening is temporary enough that waiting elsewhere can make you miss the window.
- Turn left inside the room. The Foreign Skull is on that side.
- Pick it up, then leave through the same route before the encounter moves on.
Another reliable positioning method is to wait by the opposite locked door and watch for the reinforcements that trigger the opening. The important point is to be standing at the correct side before the door unlocks; shooting at it or searching the hangar for a second entrance will not open it.
What the Foreign Skull changes
Foreign prevents the use of weapons from another faction. The restriction means you must plan around the weapons available to your current side instead of freely swapping to a dropped enemy weapon. It changes the mission’s resource decisions, especially when a preferred weapon is normally taken from a defeated opponent. The Skull does not alter the door timing or the location of the pickup.
Where is the Truth and Reconciliation Terminal?
The Terminal is in the brig, during the Captain Keyes rescue. It is in the back holding-cell room, not in the exterior landing area or the main hangar.
- Play through the Keyes rescue until you reach the room with four exits and visible holding cells.
- From the entrance, turn right into the holding-cell room.
- Find the central device and interact with it to lower the cell shields.
- Inspect the cells along the back wall. One contains a dead soldier.
- Interact with the device in that back-wall cell to collect the Terminal.
The central shield control is the step most often missed. If the cell still appears sealed, return to the middle device and activate it before checking the back wall again. The Terminal is tied to this room’s state, so arriving earlier in the mission will not reveal it.

Controls and platform differences
Route landmarks are consistent for the Evolved mission, but button prompts can differ between Xbox, PC and PlayStation control schemes. Some route descriptions identify the interact action with the Square button, which applies to a PlayStation layout. On another platform, use the on-screen interact prompt rather than assuming Square, and verify your binding in the Controls menu before entering the brig or lowering a cell shield.
The movement advice is also controller-agnostic: preserve forward momentum for Endurance Spec, use the spotlight and tree group to orient the Iron drop, and stand at the timed door before reinforcements trigger it. Mouse, keyboard and alternate controller layouts change the input, not the required position or sequence.

A clean route minimizes backtracking and keeps the harshest modifier optional.
- Launch Rally Point Alpha and collect Iron at the gravity lift. Clear the area first and decide whether to continue with Iron active.
- Replay from Rally Point Bravo for Endurance Spec. Use Acrophobia only if it is already part of your challenge setup; it is a convenience, not a requirement.
- Continue from Bravo to the dropship hangar and collect Foreign while positioned at the far-right locked door.
- Play through the Captain Keyes rescue and collect the brig Terminal after lowering the shields.
- Finish the mission or confirm the collection register before leaving the level.
If you are attempting all four in one playthrough, collect Iron first, then both hangar Skulls, and finally the Terminal. This follows the mission’s physical order, but separate rally-point runs are usually more reliable because Iron’s solo death rule can erase progress.

How Plundered is awarded
Plundered is awarded for finding all Skulls and Terminals in Truth and Reconciliation. The requirement is local to this mission’s collectible set: three Skulls plus one Terminal. Campaign-wide collectible totals are larger, so finding four items here does not complete every collectible objective in Halo: Campaign Evolved.
- Iron collected at the exterior gravity lift.
- Endurance Spec collected on the upper hangar level.
- Foreign collected through the timed dropship-hangar door.
- Brig Terminal collected from the back holding cell after lowering the shields.
If the achievement or trophy does not appear immediately, return to the mission’s collectible or achievement tracking screen after the pickup registers. Rechecking the item list also identifies which route needs to be replayed; a Skull collected in a previous run should not require a second pickup unless the game failed to save that run.
Common problems and fixes
I cannot reach the Iron ledge
Use the spotlight as your anchor. The correct starting point is the rock just right of the light, not the cliff edge beside the gravity lift. Look down before dropping so you land on the lower ledge beneath the left cactus-like tree.

Do not stop on the purple slanted structures. Sprint into each jump, keep the camera aimed at the next landing surface, and make smaller steering corrections. Acrophobia can provide a brief correction in midair if it is enabled.
The Foreign door stays locked
Stand at the far-right locked door in the large dropship hangar and wait for the reinforcements. The door opens as part of that encounter; arriving before the trigger and then moving away can make it seem permanently locked.
The brig cell has no Terminal
Confirm that you are in the room with four exits, turn right from the entrance, and activate the central shield-lowering device. The Terminal is in the back-wall cell containing the dead soldier, not in the first visible cell.
Iron made me lose too much progress
That is the intended solo effect. Restart from Rally Point Alpha for the Iron pickup, then use a separate run for the remaining collectibles. In co-op, a death returns you to the last checkpoint instead of restarting the entire level.
