Halo: Campaign Evolved lists four PC targets: Low for 1080p at 60 FPS, Medium for 1440p at 60 FPS, and High or Ultra for 4K at 60 FPS. The minimum (Low) tier calls for a Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-10700K, an RTX 2060 Super/Radeon RX 6600/Arc A580-class GPU with 8 GB VRAM, 16 GB of system memory, and 100 GB available on an SSD. Halo Support lists Windows 10 22H2 64-bit or Windows 11, but Steam currently lists Windows 11 only, so Windows 10 buyers should verify the requirements on the storefront they intend to use.
These are publisher targets rather than independent benchmark results. Match your CPU, GPU, VRAM, RAM, storage and operating system to the resolution and frame-rate target you actually want; meeting a part name on the list is not a guarantee of identical performance on every PC.

Halo Support’s PC Specifications & Drivers page, accessed October 13, 2026, gives a separate hardware target for each graphics preset. The same page lists 100 GB of available SSD space and Windows 10 22H2 64-bit or Windows 11 for every tier. The table below keeps the resolution, frame-rate, memory and graphics requirements together so you can compare your system with the preset you intend to use.

Can my PC run Halo: Campaign Evolved?
Start with the target that matches your monitor and your desired frame rate. A 1080p/60 display points to Low, a 1440p/60 display to Medium, and a 4K/60 display to High or Ultra. Compare every category, not just your graphics-card model:
- CPU: Your processor should meet or exceed the example in the chosen row. A stronger GPU cannot compensate for a processor that limits simulation or frame delivery.
- GPU and VRAM: Compare the exact graphics model and dedicated video-memory capacity. The Low and Medium rows each specify 8 GB, High specifies 12 GB, and Ultra specifies 16 GB.
- System RAM: Low and Medium call for 16 GB; High and Ultra call for 32 GB.
- Storage: The game requires 100 GB available on an SSD at every listed preset.
- Operating system: Halo Support and Steam currently publish different Windows requirements, explained below.
The figures are official targets, not measured tests. Halo has not published a frame-time chart or a guarantee that every computer with an equivalent part will hold 60 FPS in every scene, mission or co-op session.
How to check your Windows PC against the table
You can collect the relevant specifications without installing a third-party diagnostic utility. Record the results before deciding which preset to target.

Confirm that a 64-bit Windows installation is in use.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, choose Performance, and inspect the CPU, Memory and GPU panels. The GPU panel shows the model and dedicated GPU memory; integrated graphics may display shared memory separately, so compare the dedicated figure with the VRAM column in the table.
- Open Settings > System > Storage, select the SSD where you plan to install the game, and verify at least 100 GB is currently available. The requirement is free space on an SSD, not a particular drive interface or a stated total drive capacity.
- Check Windows Update and your graphics driver package before launch. Driver numbers change, so use the current Halo Support page rather than treating the versions below as permanent requirements.
- Compare your results with the whole row for Low, Medium, High or Ultra. If one component falls short, treat that row as unconfirmed instead of assuming another component will make up the difference.
Do you need Windows 11?
There is a genuine storefront discrepancy. Halo Support’s specification table lists Windows 10 22H2 64-bit or Windows 11 for all four presets. The current Steam store listing, however, states Windows 11. Neither statement should be silently substituted for the other.

If you are buying through Steam and still use Windows 10, check the live Steam system-requirements panel before purchasing and confirm that your installation is supported. If you are using the Microsoft Store or Xbox app, consult the current Halo Support requirements and the store’s own listing. Requirements can change with updates, and the storefront you use is the one that determines the installation path and its current checks.
How much SSD space is needed?
Every listed PC preset specifies 100 GB available on an SSD. Halo does not identify an SSD brand, interface standard or minimum total drive size. Therefore, 100 GB is the game’s stated free-space requirement, not a claim that a 1 TB drive is required.
Check free space on the specific SSD selected in your launcher, rather than the capacity of another drive in the computer. Windows, patches and other games also consume capacity, so leaving additional room is a practical planning choice, but the official specification establishes only the 100 GB available-space figure.
Graphics settings and upscaling options
Halo Support’s PC technology guide documents several ways to trade output resolution for rendering cost. These features can help you tune a supported PC, but they do not turn a below-minimum system into a confirmed compatible one.

The guide also describes a render-scale control and a minimum-frame-rate setting that dynamically adjusts resolution. Frame-generation and latency features are covered in the same guide. Halo does not provide a universal percentage improvement for these options, so choose them by observing your own frame pacing and image quality after installation.
Very Low settings are not a below-minimum guarantee
Halo Support says Very Low graphics options are available on supported PC and handheld hardware. It also explicitly warns that Very Low does not guarantee compatibility on hardware below the Low requirements. In other words, a lower preset or an upscaler is a tuning option for supported hardware, not evidence that a computer missing the Low CPU, GPU, VRAM or RAM target will run the game reliably.
If your system is below Low, the responsible expectation is uncertainty: installation may be blocked, the game may fail to launch, or performance may be unstable. There are no official benchmark results in the published requirements that let you predict a specific frame rate for an under-spec machine.

Drivers and launch-day checks
On the page accessed October 13, 2026, Halo Support listed NVIDIA driver 610.88, AMD driver 26.6.1 and Intel driver 32.0.101.8861. These versions are time-sensitive rather than permanent requirements. The same page notes specific crash issues on NVIDIA RTX 50-series cards with earlier drivers, which is why checking the live support page immediately before playing matters more than copying an old number from a guide.

- Install the current driver recommended by your GPU manufacturer or Halo Support.
- Restart Windows after a driver update if the installer requests it.
- Verify that the game is installed on the SSD you checked, not on a slower or nearly full secondary drive.
- After the first launch, select the preset nearest your hardware target, then adjust render scale or the minimum-frame-rate setting while watching frame pacing.
Choosing between Low, Medium, High and Ultra
Use this sequence to make a purchase and settings decision without overestimating one component.
- Set the output goal. Decide whether you want 1080p, 1440p or 4K at 60 FPS. The published rows are built around those exact targets.
- Find the matching row. Use Low for 1080p, Medium for 1440p, and High or Ultra for 4K. High is the recommended 4K tier; Ultra raises the VRAM and CPU/GPU examples further.
- Check the limiting category. Compare CPU, GPU model, VRAM, RAM, SSD space and operating system. The target is only as credible as the weakest required category.
- Resolve the storefront OS question. Windows 10 users should confirm the current requirements on the store where they will buy the game, because Steam and Halo Support do not currently say the same thing.
- Tune after installation. Use the documented upscalers, render scale and dynamic minimum-frame-rate control to balance clarity and consistency. Do not interpret a successful setting change as proof that a below-Low PC meets the requirements.
PC access, accounts and cross-play details
Hardware is only part of launch preparation. Halo Waypoint describes Campaign Evolved as a ground-up remake of Halo: Combat Evolved for Xbox Series X|S, PC and PlayStation 5, with new missions, shared progression and online co-op for up to four players across console and PC. Steam likewise describes solo play or four-player online co-op with crossplay and shared progression. The game’s global launch was July 28, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. PDT, and PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers received day-one access, according to the official early-access primer.
The same primer states that a Microsoft account and Gamertag are required to keep track of campaign progress, Skulls and more. Steam players are prompted to link their Steam ID to a Microsoft account, and Steam lists Xbox Network as a required third-party account. Set up or verify that account link before inviting friends so an account prompt does not interrupt co-op setup.
For digital Xbox purchases, Halo Support’s editions information says Xbox Play Anywhere allows play on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs through the Microsoft Store or Xbox app with the same Microsoft account. The feature applies to digital purchases, not physical copies.
What these requirements can—and cannot—tell you
The table is useful for selecting a realistic target, but it is not a substitute for a benchmark on your exact PC. Background applications, thermal limits, laptop power profiles, driver revisions, mission complexity and co-op workloads can all affect frame pacing. No independent performance measurements accompany the official specification, so a claim such as “this GPU always delivers 60 FPS” would go beyond the available evidence.
For the clearest decision, treat Low as the entry point for a supported 1080p/60 configuration, Medium as the 1440p/60 target, and High or Ultra as 4K/60 targets requiring 32 GB of RAM and substantially more VRAM. Confirm the operating-system policy with your chosen storefront, reserve 100 GB on an SSD, and update drivers before judging performance.
