For a practical starting point, use Halo Support’s competitive baseline: Low quality preset, 100° field of view, 100% resolution scale, VSync off, and reduced visual effects. Then tune the minimum frame-rate target, graphics details, and Async Compute to suit your hardware. These values are a starting profile, not a guaranteed FPS boost or universally best setup.
Start with Halo Support’s competitive settings
Halo Support recommends treating its competitive profile as a baseline and adjusting it for your PC and personal preference. In Halo Infinite’s PC settings, start with these values:

For HUD visibility, try an enemy UI color you can distinguish easily, enable enemy names, and set reticle outline opacity to 1.0 and thickness to 2.0. Halo Support lists Vermilion (red), Cerise (purple), Grass (green), and Pineapple (yellow) as enemy UI color choices; the clearest option depends on the map and your color perception. A more defined reticle can stand out better against lighter-colored outlines.
Which settings have the biggest performance impact?
Resolution scale and minimum frame rate
Resolution Scale controls the internal 3D render resolution relative to the game window. Below 100% reduces that resolution and can improve performance at the cost of clarity; above 100% supersamples for a sharper image and uses more resources. Halo Support suggests that players prioritizing frame rate try the lowest scale they still find comfortable.

Minimum Frame Rate can dynamically lower resolution to help the game meet its target. A target of 120 may make the image look blurry or fuzzy in demanding gameplay because the game prioritizes maintaining the frame rate over resolution. If clarity suffers, lower the target or use a less aggressive resolution scale. Maximum Frame Rate caps output; a lower cap may make frame delivery feel more consistent and smooth.
Quality preset and individual graphics options
The Quality Preset changes multiple graphics settings at once, and its default depends on the PC. Low is a reasonable performance-oriented starting point, but individual settings have different visual and hardware costs. Anti-aliasing uses processing power; texture filtering improves the appearance of distant textures but can affect frame rate and video memory; texture quality changes texture resolution. Other options govern geometry, reflections, shadows, lighting, fog, clouds, foliage, effects, decals, terrain, animation, and simulation.

Begin at Low, then raise only the details that matter to you while checking whether performance remains acceptable. Lower Effects Quality can disable non-essential effects to help maintain performance. Some graphics changes require restarting the game. There is no official measured FPS uplift for each setting, so treat adjustments as a controlled comparison on your own system rather than assuming a fixed gain.
Async Compute
There is no universal On or Off recommendation. Enabling Async Compute increases CPU overhead. If the PC is not CPU-bound, it may reduce GPU overhead and improve performance; on a CPU-bound system, it is likely to reduce performance. If you are unsure which component is the limit, compare both settings under the same workload and keep the one that behaves better.

Balance visibility, field of view, and latency
Field of View
Halo Support’s competitive baseline uses 100°. A wider FOV shows more of the scene but costs performance; a narrower view can help players prone to motion sickness. Start at 100° and adjust in modest steps if you need a different balance of awareness, comfort, and frame rate.
VSync
VSync uses triple-buffered synchronization to reduce screen tearing, but increases latency. The competitive profile turns it off to allow higher rendering rates; tearing may then be visible. Turn it on if tearing bothers you more than the added latency or potential reduction in peak and average frame rate.

Brightness and visual effects
Keep blur, screen shake, exposure, and full-screen effects at 0%, disable speed lines, and begin with sharpening at 60% to reduce distraction in line with Halo Support’s competitive profile. Start brightness at 0 in Screen Calibration, then adjust to your display and preference. Higher brightness may help some players see enemies and detail, but it is not a universal visibility improvement.

Check Halo Support for current requirements and your GPU maker for current PC graphics drivers; driver versions and game updates can change performance. A high-refresh-rate monitor is relevant only if your PC can render at the rates you want to display: a monitor by itself does not increase FPS.
