Warner Bros. Games revealed a gameplay walkthrough for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions on August 29, 2024, ahead of the digital launch on September 3. The rollout was staggered: the Physical Deluxe Edition followed on November 8, 2024, while Nintendo Switch was scheduled for the 2024 holiday season. The official FAQ now lists editions for Switch, alongside the other consoles and PC.
What the gameplay reveal showed
Warner Bros. Games announced Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions on June 7, 2024, and published its official gameplay walkthrough on August 29. The walkthrough listing said players’ journey began September 3. The announcement described solo play, cooperative online matches and competitive player-versus-player matches, with Unbroken Studios as developer and Warner Bros. Games publishing under its Portkey Games label. Warner Bros. Games’ June announcement and the official gameplay walkthrough establish that reveal-to-launch sequence.
Positions and modes
The game features the four familiar Quidditch positions: Chaser, Seeker, Keeper and Beater. Its named modes are Career Mode, Exhibition Matches and competitive online Player vs Player. Career and Exhibition can be played solo or online with teams of up to three friends. Players can develop roles with skill points to tailor their play style, and switch between and level up different brooms. Wizarding World’s gameplay overview describes these systems.
Career setting
The launch announcement places the campaign across three competitions: the Hogwarts House Cup, a Triwizard Schools Quidditch Cup involving Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, and the Quidditch World Cup. It also says players can take control of recognizable franchise characters or create and customize their own champions. These are campaign and character details from Warner Bros. Games, not additional modes beyond those named above.

Why the release was staggered
The September 3, 2024 launch covered the digital editions on major consoles and PC. The physical Deluxe Edition and Switch release were dated later in that launch announcement, so the original schedule was not a single simultaneous release.

The dates and platforms above come from the September 3 launch announcement. The official FAQ now lists Digital and Physical Deluxe Editions for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, plus PC digital editions on Steam and Epic. It also gives a Japan-specific date: the physical Switch edition was to be available December 6, 2024. The FAQ’s current platform listing is the useful reference for availability; the 2024 dates describe the original rollout, not upcoming releases.

Standard and Deluxe editions
Warner Bros. Games’ launch materials listed a US Standard Edition SRP of $29.99 and Digital and Physical Deluxe Edition SRPs of $39.99. These are launch-era suggested retail prices, not confirmation of current prices. The Deluxe Edition includes four Hogwarts House Packs and 2,000 in-game gold. The FAQ says gold can be earned through gameplay progression.

Choose based on format and the bundle items you want, rather than treating the historical SRP as a current offer. The FAQ says the game has no real-money microtransactions and that content, including gold, is earnable through in-game progression; the Deluxe gold is bundled content, not evidence of a separate real-money purchase system.

Internet, subscriptions and cross-platform play
The official FAQ says an internet connection is required. A platform subscription is not required to play single-player Career Mode, but online competitive play requires PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass Core or Nintendo Switch Online. Warner Bros. Games president David Haddad said the game gives fans “a chance to delve further into the Harry Potter world with the thrill of playing this beloved, fantastical sport.” Unbroken Studios chief executive officer Paul Ohanian described the team’s aim as “an authentic representation of the fan-favorite sport.” Both are promotional statements in the June announcement; the latter is the developer’s characterization, not an independent assessment of how faithfully the game plays.
