Which familiar characters did Warner Bros. Games name?
The June 7, 2024 announcement accompanying the official trailer named Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. It said players could play as or against them; it did not specify which character appears in any particular trailer shot. In its September 3 launch announcement, Warner Bros. Games additionally named Draco Malfoy.
Those announcements establish the named characters, not a complete roster. The publisher also described custom champions, giving players another way to take part beyond the familiar figures.
What kind of Quidditch game is it?
Warner Bros. Games describes Quidditch Champions as a game built around the magical sport, with four familiar positions: Beater, Chaser, Keeper and Seeker. Its announced modes include solo play, cooperative online matches and competitive player-versus-player games.

The publisher’s launch announcement outlines a competition path through the Hogwarts House Cup, the Triwizard Schools Quidditch Cup and the Quidditch World Cup. Its June announcement also highlighted settings ranging from the Weasley Burrow to the World Cup.
Release history and platforms
The game launched on September 3, 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Warner Bros. Games announced a later Nintendo Switch release; Nintendo UK lists November 8, 2024 as that edition’s release date. These are historical release details, not confirmation that a particular edition is currently sold or available in every region.

Warner Bros. Games also announced a physical Deluxe Edition for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One. Its listed house packs included broom skins, uniforms and house crest emblems. The announcement does not confirm present-day stock, so check a retailer’s listing for the exact platform and current availability.
Online requirements to check by platform
Requirements differ by platform. PlayStation’s product page says online play is required and that PS Plus is required for online play on PlayStation. Nintendo UK says the Switch version requires a persistent internet connection. Check the relevant platform’s current terms before buying, particularly if you plan to play online.

What the announcement does—and does not—tell players
Warner Bros. Games President David Haddad framed the game as a response to fan interest, saying: “We have heard fans’ passionate requests for a Quidditch gaming experience, and with Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions we are bringing the fantasy of the magical sport to life.” That is the publisher’s stated aim, rather than an independent assessment of how the game plays.
The trailer-era announcements identify familiar characters and describe the game’s roles, modes and competitions. They do not, on their own, establish current storefront availability or stock for the physical edition.
