Pachter made a cancellation claim about Fairgame$, then walked it back. In a report by PlayStation LifeStyle, he was quoted saying, “I misspoke,” and “I have no info on the game at all.” He explained that he had inferred cancellation from Jade Raymond’s departure from Haven Studios, rather than from information about the game’s development.
That correction matters: Pachter’s statement is evidence that he made the claim, not evidence that Sony canceled the project.
What has Sony or Haven officially confirmed?
Haven Studios announced Fairgame$ on May 24, 2023, describing it as a competitive heist game with PvP and emergent sandbox gameplay for PS5 and PC. The announcement did not provide a release date. Creative Director Mathieu Leduc wrote that the game “will be coming to PS5 and PC.” Haven’s announcement on PlayStation Blog is the official launch-era description.

A PlayStation spokesperson said around Raymond’s departure that the company remained “committed to supporting Haven Studios and excited to continue the journey,” according to GamesIndustry.biz. That statement was about support for the studio; it did not specifically confirm that Fairgame$ was still in development.
Is Fairgame$ still in development in October 2026?
The available official statements do not establish the game’s present status. A 2025 GameSpot report described a reported Spring 2026 release window. That was a reported target, not an official release-date announcement, and its passing does not prove either cancellation or continued development.

No official post-2023 confirmation of Fairgame$’s status is established by these sources. The accurate answer is therefore that cancellation has not been confirmed—not that the game is definitely active or definitely canceled.
