Battlestate Games confirmed that winter weather was enabled across all Escape from Tarkov locations on December 11, 2025, after the game’s servers and clients completed an update. The game’s recorded weather season changed to early spring in February 2026. Although patch 1.2.0.0 finished installing on October 6, 2026, the official notice available for that update does not confirm that snow returned.
When did snow return to Escape from Tarkov?
The verified return was announced on December 11, 2025, alongside update 1.0.0.5. Battlestate Games said: “The Winter season will be enabled on all locations after the full update of game servers and clients.” The 1.0.0.5 patch record also included the seasonal activation note.
The wording ties activation to completion of the server and client updates. It does not promise that every player or raid would see snow at precisely the same moment.
