The Hatsune Miku connection to Magic: The Gathering’s Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty was a music-and-video promotion—not a Miku card in the 2022 expansion. Miku-themed Magic cards arrived later, through a separate Secret Lair partnership that began in 2024.
What was the Hatsune Miku–Kamigawa collaboration?
It was promotional music and video tied to the 2022 release of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. Sensor Tower’s 2022 market report describes a full-length music video on Hatsune Miku’s YouTube channel and a separate animated music video created through an MTG Arena partnership with Japanese animation studio WIT Studio. The report is secondary coverage of the campaign, rather than a first-party announcement from Wizards of the Coast.
At the time the report was published, Sensor Tower estimated that the WIT Studio animated video had received close to 4 million views. That is a historical estimate, not a current view count. Sensor Tower’s 2022 report discusses the collaboration in the context of marketing the expansion.
Was Hatsune Miku a card in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty?
No. Sensor Tower explicitly says Miku did not appear as a card in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. The campaign connected her music and video presence with the expansion; it did not put a Miku-themed card in that set.

How was the 2022 promotion different from the Neon Dynasty Superdrop?
The Secret Lair Superdrop announced for the expansion’s launch was a separate product. Wizards’ February 2022 announcement listed four cards in its Showcase: Neon Dynasty drop: Ghostly Prison, Freed from the Real, Boseiju, Who Shelters All, and Hall of the Bandit Lord. It did not list Hatsune Miku. The article gave a preorder window of February 18 through March 18, 2022, which has passed.
So the Miku music promotion, the expansion’s card set, and the Neon Dynasty-themed Secret Lair drop were related to the same launch period but were not the same release. Wizards’ Superdrop announcement describes the cards and preorder period.

When did Miku-themed Magic cards arrive?
They came later, in a distinct Secret Lair partnership. In May 2024, Wizards announced Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Sakura Superstar as the first of four planned Miku drops. Its announcement listed six cards and gave a sale window of May 13 through June 2, 2024; that window is historical, not a current ordering opportunity.
A separate official product page describes Digital Sensation as the second stop on Miku’s Secret Lair tour and lists six cards. It calls the product limited quantity while supplies last, so current availability should be checked on the product page rather than assumed. These 2024 releases are the Miku-branded card products—not cards from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty.
