Haunted by Daylight 2026 is published as a seasonal event running October 13 through November 3, 2026. Behaviour’s 7.3.0 and 7.3.1 update notes place the event and its event tome implementation at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on October 18, so players should use the in-game event panel and the current Behaviour announcement for the exact activation and removal time in their region.
The event is available through the PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Epic Games Store versions of Dead by Daylight. Its main progression is an event tome: complete challenges, earn Dark Trinkets, and spend that event currency on Halloween cosmetics and charms. In 2026, ordinary hooks and generator completions no longer receive separate seasonal score events; event-feature interactions are the important source of event-specific scoring.

How long does Haunted by Daylight 2026 last?
The published 2026 schedule is October 13 to November 3, 2026, according to the Dead by Daylight Wiki’s event listing. That date range and the implementation time in Behaviour’s 7.3.0 and 7.3.1 patch documentation do not line up perfectly: the patch notes specify an event and event-tome start of 2:00 p.m. ET on October 18. Treat October 13–November 3 as the announced event window, but treat the in-game event panel and the live Behaviour announcement as the authority for the actual start and end moment shown to your account.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The difference matters if you are planning a short play period. A calendar date can appear earlier or later in your local time zone, and storefront or server deployment can finish at a different moment from the date printed in a wiki listing. If the event tome is not visible at the stated time, restart the game, check for a pending update, and look again at the event panel rather than assuming your platform is excluded.
#1 Best Overall
What the two dates mean
- Published event window: October 13–November 3, 2026.
- Patch-note implementation reference: October 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- Player-facing authority: the countdown and availability shown in your game, backed by the current Behaviour announcement.
Do not wait until the final day to claim rewards. Challenges can require several matches, and a late regional rollout, a missed update, or an unfinished tome node can leave Dark Trinkets unspent when the event closes.
What platforms have Haunted by Daylight?
Behaviour’s official Haunted by Daylight guide identifies the following storefronts:
| Platform | Storefront or edition | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation | PlayStation version of Dead by Daylight | That the game is updated and the event panel appears in your region |
| Xbox | Xbox version | That the event content has finished deploying to your account |
| Nintendo Switch | Nintendo Switch version | That the current game update is installed before starting a tome challenge |
| PC | Steam | That the PC build has downloaded the event update |
| PC | Epic Games Store | That the Epic installation is on the current build |
Behaviour’s support FAQ also lists PC Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox for a related promotional quest. That support list does not add Nintendo Switch to that particular promotion, so do not assume every promotion has identical platform coverage. Platform availability, cross-play behavior, and regional storefront timing can change; check the live listing for your own platform and the event panel in-game.
Is cross-play required?
No current official 2026 Haunted by Daylight announcement defines a special cross-play rule for Haunted by Daylight. The safest assumption is that the event follows the normal rules of your Dead by Daylight edition: you need an updated, supported platform build and an account that can access the event content. If friends on another platform cannot see the same event node, compare update versions and regional availability before changing cross-play settings.
How do you enter the event and event tome?
Haunted by Daylight is an in-game seasonal activity rather than a separate downloadable game. Once the event is active for your account, look for the event panel or event-tome entry from the normal main-menu interface. The exact button label can vary by platform and by the current game build, so follow the seasonal tile displayed in your client instead of an older menu guide.
- Update Dead by Daylight through your platform’s normal update process.
- Launch the game after the published activation time has passed in your region.
- Open the seasonal event panel and select the Haunted by Daylight event tome.
- Choose an available challenge, read its completion condition, and track it in the tome or challenge screen.
- Play the required matches and interact with the event features named by the challenge.
- Return to the tome to claim the completed node and its Dark Trinket reward.
If a challenge appears complete but the reward is not credited, return to the tome after the match result has fully processed. A quit, disconnect, or interrupted result screen may prevent progress from being recorded. If the node remains incomplete, note the exact condition and confirm that the action you performed was an event interaction rather than an ordinary hook or generator action.
Rank #2
- Survive together…or not. Survivors can either cooperate with the others, or be selfish. Chances for survival depend on your decisions.
- Where am I? Each level is procedurally generated, so you'll never know what to expect. Random spawn points mean you'll never feel safe!
- A feast for killers - Dead by Daylight draws deom all corners of the horror world. Play anything from a powerful Slasher to a terrifying paranormal entity. Master each Killer's unique power to be able to hunt, catch, and sacrifice your victims.
- Deeper and deeper - Each Killer and Survivor has their own deep progression system and plenty of unlockables that can be customized to fit your own personal strategy.
- Real people, real fear - You'll never know how things will turn out. Ambience, music, and chilling environments combine into a terrifying experience. With enough time, you might even discover what's hiding in the fog.
What are Dark Trinkets, and how do they work?
Dark Trinkets are Haunted by Daylight’s exclusive event currency. Behaviour says they are earned by completing challenges and levels in the event tome, then spent on cosmetics and charms in the event collection. They are not described as a general bloodpoint replacement or a currency usable throughout the rest of the game.

- Open the event tome and select an available challenge.
- Read the precise objective; some objectives require an event-feature interaction rather than a standard match action.
- Complete the objective in eligible matches.
- Claim the completed tome level or challenge reward.
- Repeat with the next available node until you have enough currency for the items you want.
No current official 2026 event listing establishes a universal Dark Trinket amount for every challenge, nor does it provide a fixed total for the full tome. Amounts can depend on the node and the live event configuration, so use the number displayed on each reward rather than an old guide’s total.
How to spend them without wasting progress
- Open the event collection before spending anything and identify the cosmetics or charms you consider essential.
- Record each item’s displayed Dark Trinket cost and compare it with your current balance.
- Prioritize limited event items you cannot obtain through ordinary progression.
- Keep a reserve if additional tome levels are still locked; later nodes may offer rewards you prefer.
- Spend the balance before the event’s removal time, because the currency is described as event-exclusive.
Behaviour’s event description confirms cosmetics and charms as the spending categories, but it does not promise a particular outfit, character, rarity, discount, or post-event conversion. Do not treat Dark Trinkets as a permanent account currency unless a later Behaviour notice explicitly says so.
What changed in the 2026 scoring rules?
The most important rule change concerns score events for seasonal hooks and generators. In an October 13, 2026 community-manager announcement, Ryan wrote: We’re removing unique Score Events for seasonal event hooks and gens.
The announcement explains that players receive only the standard score events for those core actions, while many Haunted by Daylight score events have increased values.
| Action | 2026 scoring treatment | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary hook action | Standard score event only | Do not expect an additional seasonal bonus solely because the hook is part of the event environment |
| Ordinary generator completion | Standard score event only | Generator progress remains useful, but it is not automatically an event-score trigger |
| Event-feature interaction | Many Haunted by Daylight score events have increased values | Use the event features named by the tome or visible in the match to pursue event-specific score |
| Tome challenge objective | Progress is tied to the challenge condition | Read the node’s wording; a normal action may not satisfy an event-specific requirement |
This does not mean hooks and generators are pointless. They still serve the normal match objective and can be required by a challenge. It means you should separate ordinary match scoring from event scoring: complete core actions when strategically appropriate, then make deliberate use of event features when you want the boosted seasonal score or tome progress.

A practical match plan
- Before queuing, select a tome challenge whose requirement fits the role and character you intend to play.
- At the start of the match, locate or identify the event feature associated with that challenge.
- Use the feature when doing so will not throw away a safe objective, rescue, or chase.
- Continue normal survivor or killer play; do not substitute risky event actions for a guaranteed match objective.
- Check the post-match score and the tome screen to distinguish score gains from currency or challenge completion.
Because the announcement says “many” event score events have increased values rather than listing every value, there is no reliable single multiplier to apply to every interaction. Use the score shown in your current build.

What rewards can you get?
The confirmed reward structure is digital and in-game. Completing event-tome challenges and levels yields Dark Trinkets, and the event collection lets you exchange those Trinkets for Halloween-themed cosmetics and charms. No current official 2026 event announcement establishes a cash prize, a gameplay-stat bonus, a guaranteed character unlock, or a fixed item list.

Are Twitch Drops or other promotions part of Haunted by Daylight?
No current official 2026 Behaviour announcement establishes active Twitch Drops or creator-affiliate terms for Haunted by Daylight. Do not promise a drop, watch-time reward, code, or partner quest unless Behaviour publishes one and states its dates, eligible platforms, and claiming process.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIf a promotion is announced later, verify four details before investing time: the promotion’s start and end times in your region, whether your platform is eligible, whether an account-linking step is required, and whether the reward is claimed automatically or through a separate page. A promotion attached to a related quest can have narrower platform coverage than the main event.
How should you plan your time?
Your best plan depends on whether you want one cosmetic, the full collection, or simply the event experience. The exact challenge count and currency totals are not established, so plan from the nodes and costs visible in your client.
Short session
- Open the collection first and choose one priority cosmetic or charm.
- Select the shortest available tome challenge that awards Dark Trinkets.
- Use the relevant event feature when it is safe, then claim the node immediately.
Several play sessions
- Group challenges by role, character, or event interaction so one match can advance more than one compatible objective where the game permits it.
- Check your balance after every completed level and avoid spending until you know the next item you want.
- Leave a final session for claiming rewards and confirming that purchases are recorded.
Completion-focused plan
- Start early in the published window rather than relying on the final weekend.
- Track locked nodes and their prerequisites in the tome.
- Reserve time for challenges that require a specific event feature or role.
- Spend all remaining Dark Trinkets before the event panel shows its closing countdown.
Troubleshooting: the event is missing or progress is not counting
The event panel is not visible
- Confirm that the game has downloaded the current update for your platform.
- Close and relaunch the game after the implementation time.
- Check the in-game date and countdown rather than relying on a third-party calendar.
- Verify that your platform and region are included in the live storefront listing.
A challenge did not advance
- Re-read the node’s wording and distinguish an event-feature interaction from an ordinary hook or generator action.
- Finish the match normally so the result can be recorded.
- Return to the tome and claim any completed prerequisite node.
- If the issue persists, capture the challenge text, platform, game version, and match result before contacting Behaviour support.
Dark Trinkets or a purchase are missing
- Reopen the event collection after the match result has synchronized.
- Check whether the node reward still needs to be claimed manually.
- Confirm that the item was not already purchased on the account.
- Do not spend based on an outdated cost shown in a video or guide; use the live collection price.
What should you check before the event closes?
- Every desired tome node is claimed, not merely completed in a match.
- Your preferred cosmetics and charms are purchased from the event collection.
- No Dark Trinkets remain that you intended to spend.
- The event panel’s countdown matches your local closing time.
- Any separate promotion has its own verified eligibility and claim instructions.
For the most reliable answer on a given day, compare the event panel in your game with the latest Behaviour announcement. The calendar window, platform rollout, event-tome challenges, Dark Trinket economy, and 2026 scoring change are the framework; the client’s live timers, item list, and challenge text determine what you can do in your specific account.
