Haunted by Daylight 2026 and its event tome are scheduled to open on October 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. If your local time is already past that launch moment and the event is missing, completely close Dead by Daylight, launch it from your platform library, install every pending game and platform update, and then verify the game files. If the client still cannot load live content, check platform-service status and your network before moving to PC clean-boot troubleshooting.
Before changing files or reinstalling anything, confirm that you are not simply checking before the event window. After activation, the normal event interface includes an event gameplay-details tab, an event tome, Dark Trinkets, and a Collection area for event cosmetics and charms.

Check the launch window before troubleshooting
The event and tome do not appear before Behaviour Interactive’s published opening time. Convert 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time to your own time zone and account for whether your region is observing daylight saving time. A missing tab or tome before that moment is expected behavior, not a damaged installation.

Once the launch time has passed, the event should be visible from the game’s live-service interface rather than from a separate download. You should be able to find an event gameplay-details tab and an event tome. The tome contains event challenges and levels; completing them awards Dark Trinkets, which are used in Collection to obtain the event’s cosmetics and charms.
#1 Best Overall
If the event is visible on one account or platform but not another, record that difference. It helps separate a local client problem from an account, platform-service, or rollout problem.
Use this fix order after the event has started
-
Exit the game completely
Quit to the desktop or console home screen, then close Dead by Daylight rather than leaving it suspended or running in the background. On PC, also close the launcher if it is stuck showing the game as active. A full restart forces a fresh connection to the live-service configuration.
-
Launch from the platform library
Start the game from the current entry in Steam, Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store or Xbox app, PlayStation, or Nintendo’s game library. Do not rely on an old desktop shortcut or a pinned executable. Behaviour’s network guidance specifically recommends a direct library launch because a stale shortcut can point to an outdated executable or bypass a launcher update.

Install all pending updates
Check for updates in both the Dead by Daylight client and the platform software. On Windows, apply outstanding Windows updates and update your graphics and other device drivers. Restart the computer or console after an update that requests it, then launch from the library again.
-
Look for the event interface, not only a score popup
After the restart, inspect the event gameplay-details tab, event tome, and Collection. Do not use the presence of a seasonal score notification as your only test; the 2026 scoring rules changed, as explained below.
-
Repair the installation if the interface is still absent
Use your platform’s file-verification or repair function. The available paths are listed in the next section. Verification can replace damaged or incomplete files without deleting your account progress.
Verify or repair Dead by Daylight files on PC
File verification is appropriate when the game launches but a menu, tab, or event asset is missing, or when updates repeatedly fail. It is not a substitute for checking the launch time or a platform outage.
Steam
- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click Dead by Daylight and choose Properties.
- Open Local Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for Steam to finish, allow it to redownload any changed files, and restart the game from the Library.
Epic Games Store
- Open the Epic Games launcher and go to Library.
- Find Dead by Daylight and select its three-dot menu.
- Choose Verify.
- When the check completes, launch the game from the Epic library rather than an old shortcut.
Microsoft Store or Xbox app on Windows
- Open My Library and select Dead by Daylight.
- Choose More options, then Manage.
- Open Files and select Verify and repair.
- Let the process finish, then restart the Xbox app or Microsoft Store and launch the game again.
Behaviour’s file-verification guidance says this process can occasionally remedy in-game issues. It does not prove that every missing event is a file problem, so continue with service and network checks if the event remains unavailable.
Check platform services and your connection
Dead by Daylight must reach its online services to retrieve event configuration, tome data, challenges, and rewards. If the game reports a disconnection or reconnects repeatedly, the issue may be your network, router, firewall, NAT, or the platform’s own online service rather than the event files.
Check for an outage first
Visit the official service-status page for your platform and look for an incident affecting sign-in, multiplayer, purchases, or account services. If the platform reports an outage, wait for service to recover before reinstalling the game. A platform outage can make every live feature fail at once.
Restart the local network
- Close Dead by Daylight and shut down the PC or console.
- Power off the modem and router, wait for them to finish shutting down, then power them back on.
- Wait until the connection indicators stabilize and restart the game.
- Use a wired connection for a test when possible. If the event appears over Ethernet but not Wi-Fi, investigate wireless interference or router settings.
Review NAT, firewall, and DNS behavior
An overly restrictive NAT type or firewall rule can block the services used after login. Make sure Dead by Daylight and its platform launcher are allowed through the operating system firewall and that the router is not blocking required online traffic. If ordinary browsing works but the game cannot stay connected, flush the computer’s DNS cache and retry; do this only as a network troubleshooting step, not as a routine event fix. Behaviour’s Error 107 guidance treats disconnect-and-reconnect problems as possible network or platform-service issues.

- Survive together…or not. Survivors can either cooperate with the others, or be selfish. Chances for survival depend on your decisions.
- Where am I? Each level is procedurally generated, so you'll never know what to expect. Random spawn points mean you'll never feel safe!
- A feast for killers - Dead by Daylight draws deom all corners of the horror world. Play anything from a powerful Slasher to a terrifying paranormal entity. Master each Killer's unique power to be able to hunt, catch, and sacrifice your victims.
- Deeper and deeper - Each Killer and Survivor has their own deep progression system and plenty of unlockables that can be customized to fit your own personal strategy.
- Real people, real fear - You'll never know how things will turn out. Ambience, music, and chilling environments combine into a terrifying experience. With enough time, you might even discover what's hiding in the fog.
Confirm the basics
- Compare the computer with the game’s minimum requirements.
- Confirm that your internet connection is stable and that the platform account is online.
- Install current audio and video drivers.
- Update DirectX and Windows.
- Run the platform file-verification step described above.
Perform a clean boot as a diagnostic
A clean boot starts Windows with nonessential startup applications and services disabled. Follow Microsoft’s clean-boot procedure, restart, and test Dead by Daylight. If the event appears in that state, a background application or service is interfering. Re-enable items in groups until the conflict is identified, then update or disable the offending software. A clean boot is a diagnostic test; it is not a permanent requirement for playing the game.
Reinstall only after the earlier checks
Reinstalling takes time and will not correct an active platform outage, an incorrect event date, or a blocked network. Use it only after requirements, drivers, DirectX, Windows, connection, file verification, and the clean-boot test have been addressed. Restart the PC and launch the newly installed copy from the platform library.
Do not mistake the new score rules for a missing event
Haunted by Daylight 2026 changed the way seasonal score feedback is displayed. Standard hook and generator Score Events remain, but unique seasonal Score Events for event-themed hooks and generators were removed. The official announcement states: We’re removing unique Score Events for seasonal event hooks and gens.
It explains that players now receive only the standard Score Events for those actions, regardless of the queue.
Behaviour’s stated reason is that new characters can interact with core mechanics differently, affecting how Score Events are tracked when a regular hook or generator is replaced by an event-themed one. Consequently, you may play an event match, interact with its themed objectives, and earn normal score feedback without seeing a separate seasonal popup.
Use the event tab, tome, challenge tracking, Dark Trinket balance, and Collection entries to determine whether event access works. A missing seasonal score notification by itself is not evidence that the event failed to load.
Diagnose the symptom you actually have
| What you see | Most likely category | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| The event is absent before the published opening time | Timing | Wait until the launch moment in your time zone; do not alter files. |
| The event tab, tome, and Collection content are all absent after launch | Client update, stale launch, damaged files, or service connection | Relaunch from the platform library, update everything, verify files, then check service status and network. |
| The event tab appears but one tome page or challenge is missing | Specific content-loading or account synchronization issue | Restart once, verify files on PC, and compare the account on another supported platform if available. |
| Every online feature fails, not just Haunted by Daylight | Platform or network outage | Check platform status, router, NAT, firewall, and DNS before reinstalling. |
| The event works but no seasonal score popup appears | 2026 scoring change | Check standard score events, tome progress, Dark Trinkets, and Collection rewards instead. |
| Only one PC has the problem while another platform shows the event | Local installation, driver, or background-software conflict | Verify files, update drivers and Windows, then use a clean boot. |
| The same absence follows the account across platforms | Account or service-side synchronization issue | Capture evidence and contact Behaviour Interactive support after confirming the launch window and service status. |
What should be available once access is working
The event gameplay-details tab explains the current event rules. The event tome provides the challenge path and levels. Progress through those challenges and levels awards Dark Trinkets, and the Collection is where those trinkets are exchanged for event cosmetics and charms. These are separate checks: an event tab can load while a particular challenge is unavailable, and a score notification can differ without affecting tome progress.
After completing a challenge, return to the tome and confirm that its progress has saved. Then inspect your Dark Trinket total and the relevant Collection entries. If the match completed but none of those account-bound values changed, note the match time, platform, and challenge name for support rather than repeating the same repair step indefinitely.
Use a controlled test instead of changing everything at once
Make one change, launch the game, and check the same locations each time: event gameplay-details tab, tome, challenge progress, Dark Trinkets, and Collection. Changing the router, drivers, game files, and account settings simultaneously makes it impossible to identify the cause and can create new variables. Record whether the problem affects the main menu, matchmaking, purchases, or only event content.
Testing another supported platform can also narrow the category. If the same account loads the event elsewhere, concentrate on the original device, launcher, drivers, or background software. If the account is missing the event everywhere while other players can access it, the evidence points away from a single damaged installation and toward synchronization or a service-side problem.
Common mistakes that waste time
- Troubleshooting before 2:00 p.m. ET: the absence is expected until October 18, 2026, at the published opening time.
- Launching an old executable: a desktop shortcut may not invoke the current launcher update; use the platform library.
- Reinstalling during an outage: reinstalling cannot restore a platform’s sign-in or online services.
- Calling a score popup proof of access: seasonal score events were removed, while standard hook and generator scoring remains.
- Repeating verification endlessly: if files pass and all online features fail, investigate service status and connectivity instead.
- Using a clean boot as a permanent fix: it is meant to reveal an interfering startup program or service; restore normal startup after the test unless you have identified a conflict.
When to contact support
Escalate after you have confirmed the event window, fully relaunched from the platform library, installed updates, verified PC files where applicable, and ruled out a platform or network outage. Include:
- Your platform and launcher, country or time zone, and the local time when you tested.
- The Dead by Daylight version shown by the launcher.
- Whether the event gameplay-details tab, tome, Collection, and Dark Trinket balance are each visible.
- Any error number, including Error 107, and whether other online features work.
- Whether the same account shows the event on another platform.
- What happened after file verification, router restart, driver updates, and a clean-boot test.
- Screenshots or a short recording of the missing menu, challenge, or reward, with personal account information hidden.
This information lets support distinguish a delayed rollout or account synchronization problem from a local installation or connectivity failure.

Why is the event tome missing but the game otherwise works?
First confirm that the scheduled start has passed, then perform a full exit and launch from the current platform library. Install updates and verify files on PC. If the event tab appears but only a tome page or challenge is missing, document the exact item and check whether the account shows the same state on another platform.
Do I need to download a separate Haunted by Daylight mode?
No separate event download is indicated. The event is delivered through Dead by Daylight’s live-service interface. The relevant checks are the gameplay-details tab, tome, Dark Trinkets, and Collection.
What are Dark Trinkets used for?
They are earned by completing challenges and levels in the event tome and spent in Collection on event cosmetics and charms.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Why do I not see a seasonal score notification?
That can be normal in 2026. Unique seasonal Score Events for event-themed hooks and generators were removed; standard Score Events still apply. Check tome progress, Dark Trinkets, and Collection rewards instead of relying on a seasonal popup.
Will verifying files erase my event progress?
The platform verification procedures check or replace local files. They are intended to remedy installation problems, not delete account progress. Close the game first and allow the verification to finish before relaunching.
What does Error 107 mean in this situation?
Behaviour’s Error 107 guidance connects disconnect-and-reconnect problems with network, router, or platform online-service issues. Check platform status, restart the modem and router, review NAT and firewall behavior, and test again.
When should I reinstall?
Only after confirming the date, updating the game and platform, checking the connection, verifying files, and performing the PC master-guide steps, including a clean-boot test. Reinstalling will not fix an incorrect launch time or an active service outage.
