That evidence points to a substantial improvement to the Switch 2 Anniversary Edition—not proof that every issue is gone or that the original Switch version received equivalent fixes.
Which Nintendo Switch version are you asking about?
The distinction matters. The original Nintendo Switch edition and the Nintendo Switch 2 Anniversary Edition are separate experiences, and the cited fix information is specifically about Switch 2. Bethesda says its December 19, 2025 update fixed “an issue that caused input latency for Skyrim players on the Nintendo Switch 2.” The statement confirms that particular fix; it does not say that all performance or gameplay problems were resolved. The available information does not establish that equivalent fixes were applied to the original Switch edition. So if you play on the original console, the Switch 2 patch reports should not be treated as an answer about your version.
What changed on Switch 2?
Input latency
Bethesda’s support note specifically confirms that the December 19, 2025 update addressed input latency on Switch 2. It does not provide a measurement of the improvement or claim that every control or performance issue was fixed. Bethesda Support

Performance and bug fixes in Update 1.2
TechRadar reported on February 19, 2026 that Update 1.2 added two display priorities and addressed crashes, control issues, and visual oddities. Examples in its report include distant water movement and blue-tinted distant foliage. These are reported patch changes, not an independent current retest across play conditions. The better choice depends on what bothers you more: a lower frame-rate target or reduced visual fidelity. The reported 60fps ceiling should not be read as a promise that gameplay holds 60fps in every scene or condition.

Does the latest evidence mean every Switch 2 problem is fixed?
No. Bethesda’s specific support statement confirms the latency fix, while the Update 1.2 details come from secondary reporting. Neither source establishes that every remaining issue is resolved across handheld and docked play, or under all conditions.
Bethesda’s general Skyrim update notes dated August 20, 2026, and hotfix list dated August 27 identify platform-specific items for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam Deck, and Creations, but do not list a Switch-specific fix. What Switch 2 edition are the fixes for?
Bethesda announced Skyrim Anniversary Edition for Switch 2 on December 9, 2025. The edition includes the base game, Dawnguard, Dragonborn, Hearthfire, and hundreds of Creation Club items. Bethesda lists enhanced resolution, DLSS anti-aliasing, improved load times, optimized performance, mouse control support, motion controls, and amiibo support among its Switch 2 features. Bethesda’s December 2025 announcement gave U.S. prices of $59.99 for the full Anniversary Edition and $19.99 for an upgrade for owners of the original Switch Skyrim. Bethesda says the Switch 2 version installs as a new application. Its announcement mentions a physical code-in-box version but also says all versions are digital downloads; verify the retailer’s exact format rather than assuming a cartridge. The original Switch game by itself does not provide the Switch 2 version’s enhanced features.
