Heartless Void is a Chapter 2 quest in the Lex Imperialis DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. To start the investigation, find Solomorne Anthar and his Arbitrators in Footfall’s Hangar A1. Sargona’s fleet is in Mundus Nullius, reached by yellow routes from Mu-Rho 79 or Latotian’s Passage. In the space battle, take out the three Cobra-Class Destroyers before attacking the Heartless; once it is crippled, you can board it and later choose to keep the frigate.
What you need before starting
The walkthrough identifies Heartless Void as a Lex Imperialis quest and advises players without the DLC to skip this section. It takes place in Chapter 2. The detailed route and encounter guidance below comes from a third-party PS5 guide, version 1.2.2, updated August 15, 2026; it is a walkthrough, not an official patch note. How to start Heartless Void
- Continue the Footfall sequence until Solomorne Anthar is waiting on the docks.
- Find Anthar and the Arbitrators in Hangar A1. He explains that they are pursuing a tithe thief and offers the thief’s frigate, the Heartless, as a reward for your help.
- Use the star map to travel to Mundus Nullius, where Captain Sargona’s fleet is located.
Where to find Captain Sargona’s fleet
Mundus Nullius is connected by yellow routes from Mu-Rho 79 and Latotian’s Passage. The star-systems guide marks Captain Sargona’s Fleet as the Heartless Void quest location. Check the Star Systems guide if you need to trace those routes on your map.
How to win the space battle
- Before engaging, ask Ravor for a tactical report. The walkthrough relays his recommendation to destroy the Heartless’s escorts before attacking the frigate.
- Defeat the three Cobra-Class Destroyers first. The encounter description also notes that the Heartless is protected by a Shadow Shield.
- After the destroyers are gone, damage the Heartless until it is crippled; the walkthrough says this ends the battle and lets you proceed to boarding.
Decide whether to keep attacking
After crippling the Heartless, precision strikes can reduce the remaining enemies, but more fire can make the ship more expensive to repair. The guide gives no exact repair amount, so weigh fewer surviving enemies against a potentially higher repair bill rather than assuming one choice is always best.

How to board the Heartless
Once the battle ends with the Heartless crippled, continue through the walkthrough’s ship sequence to board and explore it. The Rogue Trader Wiki independently identifies the Bridge of the Heartless as an area aboard the ship in Mundus Nullius, accessible in Chapter 2 with Lex Imperialis, and lists Captain Sargona among the hostile units. See the Bridge of the Heartless entry. The chapter guide says you can later choose to keep the frigate; it does not establish every possible outcome after boarding.
