How to build a house in Heartopia
Go to your home area and open the building interface. Some guides identify a Builder Tablet as the access point, but third-party descriptions of the interface and its wording are not consistent. Follow the current in-game prompt rather than assuming a particular button or device name applies on every platform.
- Choose a footprint. Decide how much of your available plot the house should occupy. Leave space for walking routes and for changes you may want to make later.
- Set the entrance and room plan. Place the entrance, then map out the main rooms and how you will travel between them. Keep turns and routes in mind, not just the room shapes.
- Build the shell. Put up the walls and establish doors, stairs, and major room boundaries before filling the house with furniture.
- Test the route. Walk in through the entrance and move through the rooms and stairs. Adjust the layout or move anything that blocks a path or makes a turn awkward.
- Save a checkpoint. Save a working arrangement before making large changes. The exact save control or wording may vary.
- Decorate last. Place large or important furniture first, then add smaller decorative objects once you know the layout works.
This staged approach is recommended in Heartopia.party’s building guide to help reveal layout problems before you spend time on fine details. For placement, rotation, and alignment, use the feedback shown in the live game; controls and indicators may differ between PC and mobile, and third-party control guides are not an official control reference.
How to plan a layout that works
Prioritize movement over decoration
Think through the route from the entrance to the rooms you expect to use. Make sure there is enough room to pass through doors, turn, and use stairs. Try that route while the rooms are still mostly empty so you can change boundaries or furniture placement without reworking the finished decor.

Leave room for changes
Build around the space you currently have, but avoid filling every available area immediately. Keeping some plot or interior space open gives you options if you add rooms, rearrange furniture, or expand later.
Use placement feedback for tight fits
When positioning a piece precisely, rotate and adjust it while watching the game’s current placement indicators. A community building-mode guide discusses this workflow, but its control details should not be treated as universal; follow the prompts and feedback in your version of the game.

What “blueprint” means in Heartopia
Guides use “blueprint” for different things, so check what a particular instruction is referring to:
- Floor plan: a design or plan for the shape and arrangement of your house.
- Saved layout: a stored arrangement of a build that you can return to or reuse, where the game’s current features allow it.
- Furniture or building-part blueprint: an unlock or recipe for an individual item or component.
These terms are not interchangeable. TheHeartopia.com’s house guide discusses the distinctions; check the relevant in-game menu to confirm what an item or feature does in your current version.

How home-plot expansion works
Third-party Heartopia guides associate additional home plots with Developer’s Guild (D.G.) progression. However, guides report conflicting plot totals and milestones, and those figures may change with game updates. Check your live D.G. panel and the expansion prompt for the requirement that applies to your account rather than planning around a universal maximum or level.
