Days of Wonder’s game is a physical 1–6-player racing board game, with online play available through Board Game Arena and an official PC adaptation listed on Steam. Those are different from a phone app, so check the platform before you buy or download anything claiming to be a mobile edition.
What Heat: Pedal to the Metal is
Heat: Pedal to the Metal is a hand-management racing game from Days of Wonder, designed by Asger Aleksandrov Granerud and Daniel Skjold Pedersen. The tabletop edition supports one to six players, is rated for ages 10 and up, and advertises approximately 60 minutes per race. Asmodee UK identifies the physical product as SKU DOW9101 (barcode 824968091012), released on 7 October 2022.

Its central problem is speed management. You play cards from your hand to move and fight for position, but pushing your car too hard adds Heat. Overheating can cost you the race, so the fastest line is not always the best line. The rules are intended to be simple to learn while still making every gear change and card choice consequential.

The product description frames the experience as intense car racing in which players manage speed and avoid overheating. That makes Heat different from a purely luck-driven race: your hand, the timing of your risks and your ability to cycle unwanted cards all shape the result.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Is there a Heat mobile app?
No authoritative iOS or Android store listing is verified here. Do not treat an advertisement, an unofficial adaptation or a mobile-friendly web page as proof that a native phone app exists. A genuine native release would normally have an identifiable listing in Apple’s App Store or Google Play and a publisher connection that can be checked independently.
For mobile users, the confirmed alternatives are browser play through Board Game Arena or remote access to a computer running the Steam adaptation. Neither option should be described as an official iPhone or Android app.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

How a race works
Manage speed through your hand
Cards determine how far your car can move. You must balance immediate acceleration against the quality of the cards you will draw and reuse later. Holding back can preserve control; spending your strongest cards can create an opening that rivals cannot easily answer.
Take Heat only when the position justifies it
Heat cards represent the cost of driving beyond a safe pace. They can clog your hand and make future turns less efficient, while too much heat risks overheating. The key decision is not simply whether you can go faster, but whether the track position gained is worth the recovery you will need.

Use the optional systems for a longer campaign

Before each race, car customization lets players tune their decks with upgrades. The Legends module adds automated drivers, allowing solo play or extra opponents in a multiplayer field.
How Heat compares with other racing board games
Compare racing games by the decisions they ask you to make rather than by theme alone. Heat’s defining combination is hand management plus overheating pressure, with a published 1–6 tabletop range, automated Legends drivers and a Championship season structure.

Buying and availability checks
For the physical game, look for the exact product name and SKU DOW9101 so that you do not accidentally order an expansion or an unrelated racing title. Availability varies by country and retailer. Asmodee North America states that its products are restricted from the Amazon marketplace and that online retailers and third-party resellers are not currently accepted for its US specialty-retailer programs; verify regional eligibility and stock before placing a commercial order.
If you want digital play, confirm that you are opening the official Board Game Arena implementation or the official Steam listing. A browser session can work on a phone without being a downloadable mobile app, while the Steam version is a PC product unless you use a separate, compatible remote-play setup.
Bottom line for mobile players
Heat: Pedal to the Metal is confirmed as a physical Days of Wonder racing game, with Board Game Arena browser play and an official Steam adaptation. A native iOS or Android version remains unverified. Choose the board game for the complete tabletop systems, Board Game Arena for browser-based sessions, or Steam for the official PC adaptation—and treat any purported phone app as unconfirmed until it appears in an official app-store listing.
