The Halo crossover tease became the Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond, which arrived on August 26, 2025—the same day Helldivers 2 launched on Xbox Series X|S. Despite the timing, the Warbond was not an Xbox exclusive: Halo Waypoint said it was available on all platforms.
What the Halo crossover tease became
On August 19, 2025, Xbox Wire announced the Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond, a collection of ODST-inspired gear scheduled to accompany the Xbox launch on August 26. Halo Waypoint later confirmed the Warbond was available to Helldivers 2 players on all platforms, with weapons inspired by Halo 3: ODST.
The announcement listed four weapons, two armor sets, cosmetic items and a vehicle pattern:
- Weapons: MA5C Assault Rifle, M7S SMG, M90A Shotgun and M6C/SOCOM Pistol.
- Armor: A-9 Helljumper and A-35 Recon sets. Both were described as having the Feet First passive.
- Other items: two capes, player cards, the “Rookie” player title and the Mean Green vehicle pattern.
Xbox Wire described Feet First as reducing movement noise, preventing leg injuries and increasing point-of-interest discovery range by 30%. That is the announcement’s description of the passive, not an independent test result.

When Helldivers 2 came to Xbox
Xbox Wire announced the Xbox Series X|S release on July 3, 2025, setting the date for August 26. The ODST Warbond announcement followed on August 19, making the launch and crossover arrival part of the same date. Xbox Wire said the Xbox version supported cross-play across platforms.
Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter for squads of up to four. Game director Mikael Eriksson also described it as a PvE cooperative game playable solo or with up to four players. On the Xbox arrival, he said: “We know gamers have been asking for this for some time and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game.”

How the Warbond was unlocked
Xbox Wire listed the Legendary Warbond at 1,500 Super Credits in its 2025 announcement. It said Super Credits could be found in-game or purchased separately; the announcement did not establish a single cash price, which can depend on current store bundles and region.
The same announcement described Warbonds as optional collections accessed through the in-game Acquisitions Center. Items unlock gradually through play, and Warbonds do not expire. It also said Premium Warbond Tokens could not unlock this Legendary tier. These are details from the 2025 announcement, rather than a guarantee that current game mechanics or prices have not changed.

Was the Halo Warbond exclusive to Xbox?
No. The crossover was announced alongside the Xbox release, but Halo Waypoint confirmed the Warbond was available on all platforms. The Xbox launch’s cross-play support is a separate point: it means Xbox players could play across platforms, not that the Warbond was restricted to Xbox.
