How to get the Game Trial
- On your Nintendo Switch, open Nintendo eShop with a user account that has an active Nintendo Switch Online membership.
- Open the Nintendo Switch Online section in eShop and find Hello Kitty Island Adventure under Game Trials.
- Download the trial and start playing during the stated trial window.
Nintendo Support says users in the United States, Canada, and Mexico can download available Game Trials this way. Downloading and initial access after restarting the console require an internet connection. Online play and other online features also require an internet connection. What happens when the trial ends
A Game Trial is a downloadable full version made available to Nintendo Switch Online members for a limited time. The game stops being playable when the trial period ends or the membership expires. Nintendo says the save data is not deleted when the trial ends; if you purchase the game, you can continue from that progress. Its October 8 announcement says players who buy during or after the offer “will keep all save data.”
What the digital discount includes
Nintendo announced a 45% discount on the digital Nintendo Switch version through October 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The announcement does not specify the discounted price, so check Nintendo eShop for the price and applicable terms. The sale lasts three days beyond the Game Trial’s October 15 end time.

What kind of game is Hello Kitty Island Adventure?
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a cozy adventure about restoring an abandoned island and building friendships with Hello Kitty and her friends. Activities include exploration, crafting, puzzle-solving, and decorating cabins, according to the official game website.
Nintendo’s US store listing identifies Sunblink as the developer and publisher. It lists single-system play for one player and online play for one to two players. The Nintendo Switch download is listed at 4.3 GB; check the Nintendo of America store page for current product information.

Digital and physical editions
The Game Trial and the 45% sale are for the digital Nintendo Switch game. A physical Switch edition is a separate purchase format, not part of the digital trial or discount. A 2025 report noted an Amazon listing, but that historical report does not establish current stock, price, or edition details; check the retailer’s live listing if you are considering a physical copy.
