The report does not yet identify a writer, director, cast, plot or release date.
What is confirmed about the Cyberpunk 2077 movie?
Paramount is developing a feature film set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, according to TheWrap’s October 8, 2026 report and Gematsu’s report from the same day. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and CD PROJEKT RED are attached as producers. The studio describes the project as live-action; no further production details were established in those reports.
CD PROJEKT RED co-CEO Michał Nowakowski welcomed Paramount as a future partner, saying, “We’re excited about Paramount as a future partner who shares our creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise. We look forward to sharing more details at the appropriate time,” as quoted by Gematsu.
Why is Paramount called the Call of Duty film studio?
Paramount is also attached to a separate live-action Call of Duty film announced by Paramount and Activision in October 2025. The Associated Press reported that Peter Berg and Taylor Sheridan were attached to that production. That connection explains the headline, but does not mean the Call of Duty filmmakers are working on Cyberpunk 2077: the available reports do not establish shared creative staff between the projects.

How does this relate to the Anonymous Content project?
CD PROJEKT RED announced a separate live-action collaboration with Anonymous Content on October 5, 2023. Its announcement described an early-stage project set in the game’s world and said the partners were seeking a screenwriter to tell a brand-new story. It named Anonymous Content Studios, but did not call the project a movie.
In an August 29, 2025 investor chat, CD PROJEKT RED said the Anonymous Content project remained at a very early stage and that updates were not imminent. The new Paramount report does not explain whether or how the two development threads are connected. There is no confirmed basis to say the earlier project was cancelled, replaced or merged with the Paramount film.
