Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is scheduled to release on October 8, 2026. It is a first-person, single-player survival-horror action game and, according to developer Saber Interactive, the first-ever video game based on Hellraiser. It tells a new story in the franchise’s universe rather than continuing the plots of the first two films.
What kind of game is Hellraiser: Revival?
Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games describe Revival as a story-driven survival-horror action game. Saber’s support FAQ specifies that it is played from a first-person perspective. You play as Aidan, who is trying to save his girlfriend, Sunny, after she activates the Genesis Configuration, the puzzle box at the center of the story.
The box is more than a plot device: Aidan must use its abilities while surviving a bargain with Pinhead and confronting a cult devoted to the Cenobites. The premise brings recognizable Hellraiser elements into a game built around exploration, combat and horror, though official descriptions do not establish detailed mechanics beyond the box’s role.
Is it connected to the Hellraiser movies?
Revival is a new story in the Hellraiser universe, not a direct sequel or adaptation of the first two films. Executive producer Nenad Tomic told Xbox Wire that the game draws on those movies’ atmosphere, themes and mythos, while its plot is not directly connected to them. Tomic also said Clive Barker has been involved from the beginning.

Among the elements carried into the game are the Genesis Configuration, the Cenobites and the franchise’s unsettling approach to pain and pleasure. Doug Bradley returns as the voice of Pinhead; Saber’s announcement described this as his first return to the role in nearly two decades.
What came before it in Hellraiser gaming?
There is little Hellraiser-specific video-game history to catch up on: Saber calls Revival the first-ever Hellraiser game. Clive Barker has been associated with other games, but they are not previous entries in this franchise. His official games archive lists Nightbreed: The Action Game and Nightbreed: The Interactive Movie (1990), Clive Barker’s Undying (2001), the online game The Labyrinth of The Abarat (2004), and Clive Barker’s Jericho (2007). That history offers context for Barker’s work in games, not a series of earlier Hellraiser titles.
When does it release, and what platforms are listed?
As of October 7, 2026, the game is scheduled to release on October 8, 2026. Saber’s support FAQ lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam. The PlayStation Blog and Nintendo UK listing also give October 8, 2026. Check the relevant platform storefront for current release status and territory-specific availability.

Playtime and internet connection
Saber’s FAQ estimates a playthrough at around 8–12 hours. That is the publisher’s estimate, not an independently measured playtime. The same FAQ says an internet connection is not required to play. Saber also says there are no post-launch content plans “at this time”; that statement is a snapshot of the FAQ, not a guarantee about future updates.
