What kind of game is High On Life 2?
High On Life 2 is a single-player first-person shooter from Squanch Games. PC Gamer identifies it as single-player, so the available evidence does not establish co-op or multiplayer. Its comedy is central to the experience, rather than a light layer over a conventional shooter; whether that works is a matter of taste.

For a review perspective, TechRadar’s reviewer says they spent 18 hours with the PS5 Pro version. PC Gamer lists its review configuration as a desktop with an RTX 5090 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Those are different review contexts, not a basis for assuming identical performance across platforms.
How does skateboarding change the gameplay?
The skateboard is the sequel’s most distinctive established gameplay addition. Xbox Wire’s feature presents it as part of both traversal and combat, and TechRadar’s reviewer says it substantially improves movement and combat flow. In practical terms, the board is more than a cosmetic flourish: it is intended to make getting around and fighting feel more mobile.

That is a reviewer assessment, not a guarantee that every encounter or player will benefit equally. TechRadar also criticized the feel of some weapons, describing them as lacking impact or feeling weak. Treat that as one reviewer’s experience rather than a settled consensus about every gun.
Is High On Life 2 worth playing if you liked the first game?
The evidence supports a cautious answer: the sequel retains a comedy-led FPS identity while making skateboarding its standout change. If you liked the original’s irreverent tone and want a shooter with more movement, those are reasons to consider it. If frequent jokes wear thin quickly, or weapon feedback is a priority for you, the reported criticism of some guns is worth weighing.

There is no sequel-specific sales, player-count, or review-average statistic established by the sources here, so there is no numerical consensus to use as a shortcut. Xbox Wire’s claim that the original High On Life was Xbox’s biggest third-party launch in Game Pass history refers to that game’s initial 2022 premiere, not to High On Life 2.
Platforms, release date, and Game Pass access
Squanch Games announced the game’s release on February 13, 2026, with purchase links for Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The same announcement says Xbox Game Pass Ultimate access is available. It also names Nintendo Switch 2 in its platform wording. Check your platform’s regional store listing for current availability and terms; the announcement alone does not establish current pricing, editions, subscription rules beyond the stated Ultimate availability, or physical release status.

Squanch Games announced Patch #1 on March 4, 2026, and said the full patch was out across platforms. That announcement confirms a patch release, but it does not establish the latest version number or the game’s current bug status. For current fixes, check the publisher’s official updates and your platform’s listing rather than treating Patch #1 as the latest update.
