Hitcents celebrated the worldwide launch of The Godfather: Family Dynasty on February 13, 2017, according to local news outlet WBKO. The mobile strategy game was reported as a co-development by Hitcents and China-based Feelingtouch Games, and was offered through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Current store listings describe a 1945-era Corleone strategy game, but their developer credits differ from each other and from the 2017 launch report.
When did The Godfather: Family Dynasty launch?
WBKO published its report on February 13, 2017, describing Bowling Green-based Hitcents as celebrating the game’s worldwide launch. The article said it was based on Paramount Pictures’ The Godfather films and was available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play. WBKO’s February 13, 2017 launch report is the contemporaneous source for that announcement.

Who developed the game?
The 2017 WBKO report names Hitcents and China-based Feelingtouch Games as co-developers. Current storefront credits are not identical: Google Play displays FT Games as the developer, while Apple’s US listing displays Hitcents.com, Inc. The reviewed sources do not explain the difference, so these should be understood as separate attributions rather than evidence of a specific change in ownership or development.

What kind of game is it?
Current storefront descriptions frame the player as an Underboss serving Don Vito Corleone in 1945. They advertise a mobile strategy experience built around developing a criminal-family estate, assembling a crew, making alliances, completing tasks, upgrading buildings and equipment, and building resources. Players are also described as defending or taking territory from rival families.

Google Play categorizes the title as strategy, 4X, multiplayer, competitive multiplayer, single-player, renovation, and battling. Apple’s US description likewise categorizes it as strategy. These are store descriptions and labels, not independent verification of how the game plays in practice.
Does the game include multiplayer conflict?
WBKO’s 2017 article describes competition between players and quotes Hitcents Marketing Director Laura Haley Gay: “And then you can go out into the world,” says Hitcents Marketing Director Laura Haley Gay, “and you can attack other players and they can attack you, and you can steal their money and y’know just all along the lines of mafia warfare.” Current Google Play labels also include multiplayer and competitive multiplayer, while the storefront descriptions advertise conflict over territory.

Is The Godfather: Family Dynasty free?
The 2017 launch report described the game as free to download. The current Google Play listing indicates in-app purchases; Apple’s US listing describes a free iPhone and iPad app with in-app purchases. “Free” therefore refers to downloading the app, not a guarantee that every feature or purchase in the game costs nothing.
