The item called “Courier’s Rasher” in the game—not “Courier’s Ration”—is delivered from Tipp & Pill in Bellhart to Loyal Mergwin in Choral Chambers. The most clearly documented step-by-step route is Bellhart → Shellwood → Blasted Steps → Grand Gate → Choral Chambers. Prepare the shortcuts first, then prioritize safe movement over fighting: damage, hard impacts, elapsed time, and fast travel can all spoil the delivery, according to the guides cited below.
Before you pick up the Courier’s Rasher
The delivery is part of The Great Taste of Pharloom, a quest requiring five ingredients. Tipp & Pill offer the Rasher in Bellhart after you have completed My Missing Courier and My Missing Brother; its recipient is Loyal Mergwin in Choral Chambers. These quest details are reported by the Hollow Knight Wiki and PC Gamer’s guide.
Set up the route before accepting
- Unlock the shortcuts you intend to use, especially the Blasted Steps shortcut recommended by the route guide.
- Prepare your available traversal tools. The route guide recommends Clawline and Faydown Cloak, while mobility suggestions include Silkspeed Anklets and a flea-related brew. PC Gamer names Flea Juice; because the sources use different item names, check the label in your own game rather than assuming they are interchangeable.
- If you want to reduce enemy pressure, the route guide suggests clearing enemies along the route in advance by traveling it backward. Avoid resting at benches on that preparatory trip if doing so would reset enemies.
- Identify grapples, double-jump opportunities, hazards, and your planned path through each room before setting off.
Recommended route: Bellhart to Choral Chambers
- Take the Rasher from Tipp & Pill in Bellhart once the quest is available.
- Travel through Shellwood to Blasted Steps. Use the shortcut you opened beforehand and take care during the ascent. The route guide describes bell-bounce and hanging-cage sections along this stretch.
- Continue through Grand Gate toward Choral Chambers. Keep your movement controlled around walls, enemies, and hazards; the route guide warns that wall collisions can damage the parcel.
- On the lower approach to Choral Chambers, favor the left-side shortcut chain described by the route guide.
- Continue through the baths corridor to Loyal Mergwin and hand over the Rasher.
This is the most detailed documented route, not a proven fastest route for every save. The Hollow Knight Wiki also lists two other route families: Greymoor → Sinner’s Road → Exhaust Organ → Grand Bellway, and Greymoor → Wisp Thicket → Underworks → Choral Chambers. Choose according to which shortcuts and movement abilities you have, how familiar you are with the platforming, and which route exposes you to fewer enemies and hazards. The available guides do not provide controlled time comparisons.
What can destroy the delivery?
The Hollow Knight Wiki reports that fast travel immediately destroys the Rasher, and specifically names Bellways, Beastling Call, Ventricas, and the Flea Caravan among the methods that break it. It also reports that damage and hard impacts reduce durability, while time depletes it. These are guide-reported mechanics; no official documentation or independent test is cited here.

How to reduce risk while carrying it
- Keep moving, but do not rush blindly. A fall, wall collision, or heavy landing can cost durability, so control speed near hazards and tight spaces.
- Avoid unnecessary combat. Fighting can expose you to damage and consumes time; clearing threats before pickup is the safer approach suggested by the route guide.
- Use the map to plan. Both the route guide and PC Gamer report that opening the map pauses the delivery timer. The cited guides specifically mention the map, not every menu.
- Do not fast travel. Stick to continuous traversal for the entire delivery.
- If the parcel is destroyed, return to Tipp & Pill. The wiki says they provide another attempt.
What completing the delivery contributes to
The Rasher is one of the five ingredients in The Great Taste of Pharloom. PC Gamer reports that after all ingredients have been delivered and the meal prepared, a nearby container opens to reveal Pale Oil for a needle upgrade. The same guide reports a cost of 500 Rosaries for the second needle upgrade; treat that cost and progression detail as guide-reported and potentially dependent on game state.
