To complete Crawbug Clearing in Hollow Knight: Silksong, unlock the wish after defeating Widow, accept it at Bellhart’s Wishwall, speak to Creige at the Halfway Home in Greymoor, and bring him 25 Ragpelt. Craws on the roof are the convenient, slower source; larger Crawbugs in eastern Greymoor drop more per kill.
How to unlock and start Crawbug Clearing
- Defeat Widow. Crawbug Clearing becomes available after this boss is defeated.
- Accept Crawbug Clearing at the Wishwall in Bellhart.
- Travel to the Halfway Home in Greymoor and speak to Creige. Accepting the wish at the Wishwall alone does not activate the task; you must talk to him.
Creige’s wish concerns Craws fouling the Halfway Home’s roof. He introduces it by saying, “Those blasted crawbugs are fouling up my roof! I’ve come up with a clever solution to keep them away, but I’ll need some help. Enquire at the Halfway Home if you’re fit for the task.”

How to collect 25 Ragpelt
You need 25 Ragpelt for Creige. A Craw drops one, while Tallcraws and Squatcraws in eastern Greymoor drop two to five each.
Convenient route: farm the Halfway Home roof
- Kill the Craws on or around the Halfway Home roof.
- Rest at the bench inside the Halfway Home to respawn them.
- Repeat until you have 25 Ragpelt.
This route keeps you close to Creige and avoids a trip across Greymoor, but the smaller Craws yield one Ragpelt each.

Higher-yield route: hunt larger Crawbugs in eastern Greymoor
Travel east in Greymoor and target Tallcraws and Squatcraws. Their two-to-five Ragpelt drops can reduce the number of enemies you need to defeat, at the cost of extra travel. No timed comparison is established, so the faster choice depends on your route and how comfortably you can handle these enemies.
Where to turn in Ragpelt and what you get
Once you have 25 Ragpelt, return to Creige at the Halfway Home and speak to him. The reward is a Crafting Kit upgrade; the Crafting Kit increases Tool damage. Creige also installs a scarecraw on the tavern roof, which permanently removes the Craws from that rooftop.
