There are four Crafting Kits in Hollow Knight: Silksong. You can buy three from merchants and earn the other by completing a Wish. The later locations have ability and quest requirements, so use the route below to check what you can collect next. Progression spoilers: the later kits involve regions, abilities, and a Wish that may be new to you.

The table lists prices for Kits 1, 3, and 4; Kit 2 is a reward rather than a purchase. Its listed prerequisite is the SAVE: The Threadspun Town Wish. The acquisition details come from a community-maintained wiki, rather than a complete primary guide from Team Cherry.
What Crafting Kits do
Crafting Kits increase damage dealt by damage-dealing tools. The wiki’s patch history says an update reduced each kit’s damage bonus from 70% to 60%, and a later update fixed damage increases for offensive blue tools. Because the percentage comes from secondary-source patch notes and may depend on tool behavior, treat the upgrade as a damage improvement rather than relying on an older 70% figure. The wiki reproduces Forge Daughter’s description: “Crafting by claw alone produces inferior results. With this kit, you can craft finer, sharper, and deadlier tools… if that is your wish.”

Crafting Kits are not the bench replenishment system
A Crafting Kit improves tool damage; it does not add carrying capacity or replenish tool charges. Tool Pouches let Hornet carry more Red Tools, while resting at a bench replenishes or repairs tools using Shell Shards. Nintendo Life describes these as separate functions in its Silksong tools guide.
