When Patch 2 arrived—and why two September dates appear
Team Cherry’s official post, written by Ari Gibson, is dated September 23, 2025. Steam’s announcements archive dates the live Patch 2 announcement to September 21. Those dates describe different records; the official post says the patch was available across all platforms. Team Cherry summarized its focus this way: “Where the first patch dealt mainly with critical issues, this next one focuses on a few still remaining, while also cleaning up some bugs around specific tools.” (Team Cherry’s Patch 2 post; Steam announcements archive)
What Team Cherry officially listed
PC-only dithering option
The PC version gained a dithering option in Advanced video settings to reduce colour banding. Team Cherry noted the trade-off: foreground assets can appear slightly softer. In the September post, the setting defaulted to Off. This description is specific to Patch 2’s September state, not later versions.
Fixes and adjustments
The official notes include a clarification that the Herald’s Wish achievement requires completing the wish and finishing the game. Team Cherry also listed fixes for:

- Pondcatcher Reed, Verdania memory-orb effects, multihitter break counters, and Volt Filament interactions.
- Cogflies and Wisps targeting Skullwings, Cogfly health resetting after scene changes, and Curveclaw behavior.
- Plasmium Phial and Flea Brew restoration at benches.
The post also notes “Various other smaller tweaks and fixes.” Team Cherry said that improving the Simplified Chinese translation remained its first priority for upcoming patches, beyond regular fixes: “For our upcoming patches, beyond regular fixes, our first priority remains to improve Silksong’s Simplified Chinese translation.” (Team Cherry’s Patch 2 post)
Additional changes recorded by a community chronology
The community-maintained Silksong Updates chronology has a separate “Undocumented Changes” section for version 1.0.28650. The entries below are community-recorded, not items confirmed in Team Cherry’s published Patch 2 notes. The chronology marks some entries with references and others with missing-reference notices, so its items do not all have equal independent support.

Because the chronology is a secondary, community-maintained source—and some entries lack references—these details are best treated as its record of changes rather than as developer-confirmed patch notes. It does not establish why the changes were absent from Team Cherry’s list.

Team Cherry’s November 6, 2025 version 1.0.29242 announcement says that patch added extra dithering levels and changed the default to Low, among other changes. That later update should not be read back into Patch 2: the September post described a single option that defaulted to Off. (Steam announcements archive)
