How to reach Sands of Karak
Sands of Karak is entered from Blasted Steps. Game8 describes the approach from the Pinstress location: use Clawline to traverse above the area, reach the left-corner ledge, climb, then continue to a second ledge to enter Sands of Karak. Game8’s Sands of Karak guide gives this landmark-based route.

- Use Clawline to cross above the area toward the left side.
- Reach the ledge at the far-left corner and climb up.
- Continue to the next ledge and enter Sands of Karak.
Other walkthroughs describe the western approach with Clawline and wall-jump traversal, and mention Glide or Double Jump in connection with their routes. Those descriptions do not establish that every listed ability is a universal entry requirement. If a ledge seems out of reach, check your movement options and look for an alternate climb rather than assuming the whole ability list is mandatory. PCGamesN’s route description and Gameranx’s access guide offer these route variants.
How to explore and check the area
For a first visit, advance through the passages and note branches you cannot yet reach. Shakra’s map is mentioned in PC Gamer’s Great Taste of Pharloom route, which also describes a shortcut and a platforming section where breaking growths opens a path. Use those landmarks as exploration cues, then check your map against the rooms you have actually visited. PC Gamer’s route provides that broader context.

Simple Key location
Game8 identifies a Simple Key on a corpse sitting on a bench in the right-most room of the major area. Search that room if you are collecting important items, but do not treat this single location as a complete pickup checklist: the available map information does not establish every item or secret in Sands of Karak.
Completion-minded sweep
- Use the map to identify unexplored rooms and branches.
- Check benches, side passages, and points of interest rather than following only the main route.
- Look for breakable growths where a passage appears blocked.
- Revisit a branch when you have a movement option that may open a previously inaccessible ledge.
- Confirm that you have collected the Simple Key in the far-right room if it is still unclaimed.
Game8 provides an interactive map and point-of-interest categories, but the available listing does not verify a complete inventory of pickups. A claim of 100% completion should therefore be based on checking the full in-game map and current version, not on the Simple Key location alone.

Coral Tower and progression
Sands of Karak is connected to progression toward Coral Tower. Game8’s Heart of Might walkthrough includes Sands of Karak and Coral Tower in its quest route, and a walkthrough video’s chapter markers also identify an encounter and Coral Tower. Use the area as part of that progression, but the cited route summaries do not provide enough detail for a complete Heart of Might quest walkthrough or a verified strategy for the encounter. Game8’s Heart of Might walkthrough and the Red Spirit walkthrough are relevant route references.
