Look for Snare Setter in Weavenest Atla, the Weaver complex east of Moss Grotto. The location guides agree on the area and a concealed upper or roof passage, though their descriptions of the approach differ. Game8’s detailed route uses a hidden ceiling opening; PC Gamer describes entering through the Needolin door and finding a roof passage.
How to reach the hidden room
Follow these landmarks for Game8’s route. The Faydown Cloak is required for the double jump in this section.
- Travel to Weavenest Atla, east of Moss Grotto, and warp down into the area.
- Climb the wall on the right, then cross to the grassy section on the left.
- Before reaching the lake, use the Faydown Cloak’s double jump to reach the concealed opening in the ceiling.
- Climb through the hidden area and collect Snare Setter.
If you are approaching from the sealed entrance, PC Gamer’s route description says to use Needolin at the door, take the lift down, jump above the door on the right, and cross the lift shaft. From there, search above the route for the concealed roof passage. The descriptions differ in their local landmarks, but both point to a hidden upper passage in Weavenest Atla.

What Snare Setter does
Snare Setter is a Red Tool that places a silk rune on the ground. Enemies that touch it trigger an explosion. Game8 describes holding the activation to charge and leave a trap; a simple press instead sends Hornet down into the ground. The guide says using the tool consumes Shell Shards and Silk. Exact damage and capacity figures are not established here.
Pickup rewards and later quest use
What you get for collecting it
The documented pickup gives you the Red Tool. The route guide does not establish a separate bundle of upgrades or other reward for collecting it. Claims that Snare Setter itself grants multiple upgrades or independently unlocks several bosses are not corroborated by the location and quest guides.

Spoilers: Silk and Soul and Soul Snare
Later, the Caretaker can use Snare Setter for the Silk and Soul wish. The wish combines it with the Seeker’s Soul, Maiden’s Soul, and Hermit’s Soul to create Soul Snare. Handing over the tool removes it from Hornet’s inventory. Game8 says completing the wish advances the alternate-ending route and opens Act 3 progression. This is a later quest consequence, not a benefit of the initial pickup.
