Honkai Impact 3rd Battlesuit Tier List (v9.0.0): How to Choose Valkyries for Your Account

Two October 2026 rankings disagree on Honkai Impact 3rd’s top battlesuits. Learn how to use them as shortlists and choose for your roster, content, and equipment.

There is no single best Valkyrie for every Honkai Impact 3rd account. The latest ranking snapshot covered here is Pocket Gamer’s version 9.0.0 list, updated October 7, 2026, but Game.Guide’s October 1 aggregation gives a markedly different set of top-ranked battlesuits. Use either list as a shortlist—not a universal verdict—and choose based on the content you play, your teammates, and the equipment you can actually field.

What this tier list can—and cannot—tell you

A battlesuit tier is a ranking source’s judgment about relative value, not a guarantee that the suit will perform equally well in every encounter or on every account. The two current lists below use different methods and produce different top groups. That disagreement matters: a letter grade or a place near the top is useful for deciding what to investigate, but it cannot tell you whether a battlesuit fills a gap in your roster or has the setup you need.

The snapshot here is time-bound. Pocket Gamer’s list is for version 9.0.0 and was updated October 7, 2026. Game.Guide’s page is dated October 1, 2026 and describes a weekly rebuilt aggregation. Game updates can make older rankings less relevant, so check the version and update date whenever you consult a list. Neither ranking page, as described here, establishes a complete matchup guide for every mode or a personalized recommendation for your account.

That means the question “Who is the strongest Valkyrie?” needs a follow-up: strongest for which activity, against what encounter, and with what team and equipment? A list can order suits according to its own criteria, but its label does not answer those account-specific questions. The more useful goal is to identify a candidate that meets your needs and that you can realistically build.

Current ranking snapshot

These lists should be read as separate references, not combined into a single consensus ranking. Pocket Gamer publishes its own five-tier list; Game.Guide reports a median ranking based on six current lists. Their categories and methods are not interchangeable.

Source and date Method and tier format Published top group or top ten
Pocket Gamer, updated October 7, 2026; version 9.0.0 Single publisher’s list with five groups: S+, S, A, B, and C Its S+ group includes AstralOp Senadina, Bailu Youyun, Rita – Miss Espionage, Chenxue, Durandal – Reign Solaris, Vita – Lone Planetfarer, Griseo – Cosmic Expression, Sparkle, Helia, and Theresa – Schicksal’s Imperative, among many other battlesuits.
Game.Guide, October 1, 2026 97 battlesuits ranked S to D; placements use the median from six current lists, and the ranking is rebuilt weekly Its top ten, in listed order, are Fervent Tempo Δ, Herrscher of Sentience, Herrscher of Reason, Herrscher of Thunder, Herrscher of Rebirth, Vermilion Knight: Eclipse, Stygian Nymph, Fenghuang of Vicissitude, Herrscher of the Void, and Herrscher of Human: Ego.

The names in Pocket Gamer’s S+ examples are not presented as its complete S+ roster. The Game.Guide names, by contrast, are its reported top ten. Do not treat a name appearing in one list as proof that the other source ranks it similarly: the lists differ substantially, and the evidence here does not provide matching placements for every suit across both systems.

The difference is not just a matter of one label being called S+ and another being called S. Pocket Gamer’s five groups express one publisher’s ordering; Game.Guide’s S-to-D scale summarizes median placements across six lists. One list is not a more detailed version of the other, and a median does not mean every contributing list agrees. If you compare them, compare their stated methods and the candidates they surface—not the letters as though both used one shared scale.

For instance, Game.Guide’s reported top ten includes several Herrscher battlesuits, while Pocket Gamer’s cited S+ examples include AstralOp Senadina, Bailu Youyun, Rita – Miss Espionage, and others. This observation describes the published groups; it does not explain why the publishers placed each suit where they did. The available ranking details do not establish a specific mode matchup or a tested reason behind each placement, so avoid turning the lists into claims about performance that they do not make.

How to choose the right battlesuit for your account

Before spending resources or committing to a build, work through these questions in order. This turns a broad ranking into a decision about the content you actually want to clear and the roster you already own.

  1. Choose the content first. Name the mode, encounter, or enemy you want to prepare for. A list that gives one overall tier does not answer every mode-specific matchup, and the ranking sources here do not provide enough detail to construct a complete mode-by-mode order. If you cannot name the content, treat a tier placement as general orientation rather than a decisive reason to invest.
  2. Define the job you need filled. Decide what role or contribution your team is missing for that content. Then investigate candidates that could address that need instead of selecting the highest-ranked name by default. A ranking cannot establish that a candidate solves a gap unless its role and relevance to your intended encounter are clear.
  3. Check the team you can assemble. Look at the teammates you own and whether they can form a usable team with the candidate. A battlesuit’s placement in a list does not reveal the quality of your own available teammates or whether you can field the setup that placement assumes. If the required team is out of reach, compare the candidate with options that fit the roster you have now.
  4. Account for equipment, not just ownership. Ask whether you have, or can reasonably obtain, the weapon and stigma setup needed for the build you are considering. A suit and its recommended equipment are separate parts of the decision. HoYoverse’s official Valkyrie Triumph guide illustrates the level of specificity to look for: its equipment example names Blood Dance, Turgenev (T), Mei: Beach Party (M), and Turgenev (B). That example is not proof of a universally current optimal build; use a guide that matches the character, game version, and content you care about.
  5. Compare the full investment and acquisition path. Owning a battlesuit does not automatically mean owning its recommended setup. Consider what it would take to get the character and what it would take to equip the team you intend to use. Keep character acquisition, equipment acquisition, and crafting options distinct when assessing the total commitment.
  6. Check the list’s date and method before relying on it. Prefer a list tied to a clearly stated game version and recent update. Note whether it reflects one publisher’s judgment or an aggregation, and do not assume two sources’ tier labels mean the same thing.

These steps also help answer “Which Valkyries should I build?” Start with a content goal, then identify a team need and shortlist candidates that may meet it. Before committing, check whether the teammates and equipment are available to you. If you have several promising candidates, compare them against the same goal and the same account constraints rather than comparing their labels in isolation.

Use rankings as a shortlist, not a shopping order

A practical shortlist starts with candidates that appear promising in a current list, then tests each against your own constraints. The list answers “who should I look into?” Your account check answers “who can I use, for what, and at what cost?” Those are different questions.

When a high placement is useful

  • You have identified a content goal and want a manageable set of candidates to investigate.
  • You can verify that a candidate’s role and team fit the encounter you care about.
  • You already have, or can plan for, the equipment needed to make the intended build viable.
  • The list is recent enough for the game version you are playing and its methodology is clear.

When a high placement is not enough

  • You do not know what role the candidate would fill in your roster.
  • The list does not explain the encounter or matchup relevant to your goal.
  • You cannot field the relevant teammates or equipment and have not compared a more practical alternative.
  • You are using an old list without checking whether its version and date still apply.

These checks are especially important when rankings disagree. Pocket Gamer’s S+ examples and Game.Guide’s top ten are not simply two presentations of the same order: one is a single publisher’s five-group list, while the other reports a median drawn from six lists. A suit’s absence from one source’s featured top group does not prove it is weak, just as a high position in one list does not establish that it is the best next choice for your account.

A useful comparison is therefore not “Which of these names has the highest letter?” but “What does each source actually say, and what can I conclude from it?” You can conclude that a named suit is included in a published group or top ten. You cannot conclude from those placements alone that it is best for every activity, that it will outperform another suit on your account, or that its required setup is within reach. Keep those conclusions separate.

Why equipment changes the decision

It is easy to compare battlesuit names while overlooking the setup behind a recommendation. For a useful comparison, record the suit, the weapon and stigma configuration being recommended, the team you can assemble, and the content the build is meant to address. If a tier page does not make those assumptions clear, avoid treating its placement as a complete build recommendation.

Valkyrie Triumph provides a concrete example of what an equipment reference can include: HoYoverse’s official guide lists Blood Dance as the weapon and Turgenev (T), Mei: Beach Party (M), and Turgenev (B) in the stigma slots. It demonstrates that an equipment recommendation can specify more than the battlesuit itself. It does not establish that this setup is the strongest choice today, or that it should be copied for another character or purpose.

When you compare builds, distinguish confirmed guidance from assumptions. A guide tied to a specific character is more useful than transferring equipment names from a different suit. Check that its context fits your version and intended content before treating the listed setup as a target.

This distinction matters whether you already own the battlesuit or are considering pulling for it. Ownership answers only whether the character is in your roster; it does not answer whether you can equip the build you have in mind. Likewise, seeing a weapon or stigma named in a guide does not mean that item is available through the same route as the battlesuit. Treat the character and equipment as linked parts of a plan, but investigate their acquisition separately.

The Valkyrie Triumph example should be read narrowly: it is a useful illustration of the detail a guide may include, not a current cross-character recommendation. It does not establish a general equipment rule, a universal priority among the named pieces, or a present-day ranking for Valkyrie Triumph. For another candidate, look for guidance written for that suit rather than assuming this example transfers.

Separate character value from supply and crafting availability

Acquisition details change, so a historical banner announcement should not be used as a current availability calendar. HoYoverse’s version 8.2 announcement, dated April 24, 2025, described Peregrine Sword as a BIO-type Physical DMG dealer who uses fists. It also separately announced a featured battlesuit supply, an equipment supply, login rewards, and a craftable stigma set called Newfound Joys. Those details show that character acquisition and equipment progression can be separate decisions; they describe that period, not what is available in version 9.0.0.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a decision you are making now, verify the current in-game supply and crafting options directly. A tier list can help identify a candidate to investigate, but it does not by itself establish whether that suit is currently available, what it will cost to obtain, or whether its equipment can be acquired on the same path.

The v8.2 example is useful because it separates several types of announcement that can otherwise be blurred together: a battlesuit supply, an equipment supply, rewards for logging in, and a stigma set that could be crafted. Those are not interchangeable guarantees or a single acquisition package. They also do not establish what a player would need to spend or how long obtaining the full setup would take. The announcement is historical context, not a current price list or promise of availability.

So, is a character still worth pulling? A tier placement can make a suit worth investigating, but the answer depends on what you need, what you already own, what equipment is available, and what the current acquisition route offers. The sources cited here do not provide exact costs, guaranteed account-specific value, or a present-day banner schedule. Check current in-game details before making a commitment, and do not infer availability from a past event.

How to read disagreement between tier lists

When two rankings disagree, resist the urge to average their labels yourself. Pocket Gamer and Game.Guide do not use the same structure: Pocket Gamer presents five groups in a single-publisher list, while Game.Guide reports a median across six current lists and ranks 97 battlesuits from S to D. A numerical or letter-based conversion between them is not supplied, so translating one system into the other would create false precision.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Instead, use disagreement as a prompt to investigate assumptions. Check each page’s date, version, and method. Ask whether the page offers the kind of detail you need—such as role, encounter, teammates, or equipment—or only an overall placement. Where that detail is absent, keep your conclusion limited to what the ranking actually shows. Neither source, as described here, gives a complete mode-by-mode answer or evaluates your personal roster.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

Also distinguish “not shown in this excerpted top group” from “ranked low.” Pocket Gamer’s named S+ examples are explicitly not its full S+ roster, and the available comparison does not give matching placements for every suit across both sources. The Game.Guide list names its reported top ten, but that is not a full explanation of all 97 placements. A missing name in one displayed group should not be treated as proof of a poor overall rating.

This is why a ranking date and method belong beside any tier table. Without them, a reader may mistake an old snapshot for a current one, or a single opinion for an aggregation. The October references offer useful orientation, but their dates are part of the information: Pocket Gamer is tied to v9.0.0 and updated October 7, 2026; Game.Guide’s aggregation is dated October 1, 2026 and says it is rebuilt weekly.

A quick account decision worksheet

Before choosing a target, write down a short answer for each item. If several answers are missing, gather that information before treating a tier as a reason to commit.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Goal: What mode, encounter, or enemy are you preparing for?
  • Need: What team job are you trying to fill?
  • Candidate: Which battlesuits appear relevant in a recent, version-labeled list?
  • Team: Which useful teammates do you already own?
  • Equipment: What weapon and stigma setup does the intended build call for, and what parts do you have?
  • Acquisition: What are the current ways to obtain the suit and its equipment? Check current availability rather than relying on an older announcement.
  • Evidence: Is the ranking a single publisher’s list or an aggregation, and when was it updated?

Then compare candidates on fit rather than forcing them into a universal order. If one candidate ranks higher but depends on a team or setup you cannot field, while another fits your present roster and goal, the ranking alone does not settle the choice. The sources available here do not establish exact investment value for a particular account; that depends on the specified content, roster, equipment, and current version.

You can make the comparison concrete with a short side-by-side note for each candidate: the ranking source and date, the content you want to address, the job you believe the suit could fill, teammates you have, and the equipment you own or can obtain. Mark anything you have not verified as unknown rather than assuming that a high tier resolves it. This keeps a shortlist honest and makes it easier to see whether you need more information before choosing.

If you are deciding between building a suit you already own and pursuing another one, compare the practical setup rather than just the acquisition decision. For the owned suit, note what its intended team and equipment would require. For the new candidate, note both the current route to the character and the separate route to its gear. No exact investment-value calculation is supported by the ranking pages here, so use the worksheet to reveal trade-offs without pretending that it produces a universal score.

Bottom line on the current tier lists

For a version 9.0.0 reference, Pocket Gamer’s October 7, 2026 list offers a five-tier view, while Game.Guide’s October 1 page offers a weekly median aggregation across six lists and ranks 97 battlesuits. Their different top groups are a reason to consult the method and date, not to search for an imaginary universal answer. Pick a battlesuit only after matching its likely role, team, and equipment to the content you intend to play.

A tier list is most useful when it narrows the field, not when it makes the decision for you. Start with a current, clearly labeled ranking, then check whether a candidate fits your goal, roster, equipment, and acquisition options. If one of those pieces is unknown, verify it before treating a placement as a reason to invest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the strongest Valkyrie in Honkai Impact 3rd?

There is no single strongest Valkyrie established for every account or activity. Pocket Gamer’s version 9.0.0 list, updated October 7, 2026, and Game.Guide’s October 1, 2026 aggregation report substantially different top groups and use different methods. Treat their placements as shortlists, then check the content, team, and equipment you have in mind.

Which Valkyries should I build for my account?

Start with the content you want to play and the team job you need filled. Compare candidates against your available teammates and the weapon and stigma setup you can field. A high tier placement alone does not show whether a suit fits your roster or has the equipment needed for your intended build.

Is a high-ranked battlesuit still worth pulling?

A high placement can identify a candidate to investigate, but it does not settle whether it is the best pull for your account. Check your current roster, the suit’s role for your goal, its equipment needs, and current in-game acquisition options. The October 2026 ranking pages do not establish exact costs, account-specific value, or a current banner schedule.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why do Pocket Gamer and Game.Guide rank different battlesuits at the top?

Their methods and formats differ. Pocket Gamer’s October 7, 2026 version 9.0.0 list is a single publisher’s five-tier ranking (S+, S, A, B, C). Game.Guide’s October 1 page reports 97 suits ranked S to D using the median from six current lists and says it rebuilds weekly. Their groups are not a shared scale or a universal consensus.

Does owning a battlesuit mean I have its recommended build?

No. Character ownership and the weapon and stigma setup are separate parts of a build decision. HoYoverse’s Valkyrie Triumph guide, for example, lists Blood Dance, Turgenev (T), Mei: Beach Party (M), and Turgenev (B); that is an equipment example, not proof of a universally current optimal setup. Check guidance for the specific suit and content you want.

Can I use the version 8.2 announcement to check what is available now?

No. HoYoverse’s version 8.2 announcement is dated April 24, 2025 and documents that period’s Peregrine Sword description, supplies, login rewards, and craftable Newfound Joys stigma set. It is historical context, not a current availability calendar. Check the in-game supply and crafting options for the version you are playing.

The Bottom Line

Use the October 2026 lists to find candidates, not to outsource the decision. Their top groups differ because their methods differ, and neither tells you what is best for every mode or account. Choose based on your content goal, teammates, equipment readiness, and current acquisition options.
