HoYoverse announced Honkai: Nexus Anima on August 29, 2025, describing it as a creature-collecting adventure strategy game in the Honkai series. Its premise combines exploring a world, bonding with mysterious creatures called Anima, and strategic battles. HoYoverse has not confirmed a public release date or launch window in the sources reviewed.
When was Honkai: Nexus Anima announced?
HoYoverse announced the game on August 29, 2025, and opened recruitment for its first closed beta, called the Nexus Bond Test. The company described the title as under development, so its announced premise and features may change. HoYoverse’s announcement, distributed through Games Press, is the source for the reveal and initial genre framing.
What kind of game is Honkai: Nexus Anima?
HoYoverse frames it as a creature-collecting adventure strategy game. Players are meant to form bonds with Nexus Anima, explore the world, and use strategy in battles. The announcement establishes that high-level concept, but it does not settle every detail of how collecting, progression, or combat will work in the finished game.
What are Anima, and how does combat work?
Nexus Anima are the mysterious creatures at the center of the game’s premise: they are companions players encounter and bond with. A TechRadar Gamescom preview published September 7, 2026 described its preview build as featuring exploration, Anima encounters, top-down auto-battles, team placement, and ability cards. Those are observations from that build, not confirmed final specifications; they may not reflect the eventual release.

What platforms is Honkai: Nexus Anima coming to?
In June 2026, HoYoverse announced the Evolution Test, a limited-access, non-paying, data-wiping closed beta beginning July 9, 2026, on PC, Android, and iOS. Inven Global’s June 21, 2026 report covered the test and its announced platforms. This was a beta-platform announcement, not confirmation of the game’s final launch platforms. The test’s announced start date is also a historical milestone, not a release date.
When does Honkai: Nexus Anima come out?
No public release date or launch window is confirmed in the reviewed sources. The official announcement, the Evolution Test report, and the official Honkai: Nexus Anima site do not establish when the full game will launch. A beta schedule should not be mistaken for a launch announcement.
